The overall speed of the forum is just amazing atm. e.g. when I click a thread it comes up in about 1.5 seconds and my internet speen isn't even 1 mb or w/e it is.

So is the forum in general.

I only have a problem with edits. Not sure how the edit time can be so long unless someone has been playing around with the reply and edit files, which you never really need to do :S It's either that, or the server Habbox use is hopeless :P

Replies are fine, just not edits.

Replies are fine, just not edits.I agree with that, I generally proof read after I've posted so I usually edit 70% of my posts and its very very annoying.

However it is possible to get around it, even though it takes about 20 seconds to load, it submits the updated post within about the first 2 seconds. Edit your reply, wait a few seconds while its loading, and just change web page or go to the Habboxforum homepage, it'll of updated your post still. It doesn't seem reliable but it does work, clearly the wait is unecessary then.

My edits can take up to about 2 minutes....

Normally only about 30 seconds but still slow.

Watch the rotating black dots. Once they stop moving, just refresh. That's what I do but I wish it'd do it automatically...

Jin knows what the problem is, he's just finding it hard to fix (or perhaps he hasn't located the actual source of it.) But our uber hard working bunny tech is taking care of it :)

Can't he just re-upload the php files associated with replies? There doesn't seem to be any modifications to them and they're not usually meant to be modified, so they should be fine with a fresh re-upload :D

I'm not going to lie to you, that thought never crossed my mind as though I'm not a Luddite (obviously) I am no tech wiz. Feel free to suggest it to him though, and I'm sure he'll read this thread :D

I'm not either, but when I break things on forums I usually re-upload the same file and leave it at that :P It's either the files or somewhere something is not processing the information very fast.

Does it actually take ages to save it, or does it take ages to load?

Have you tried refreshing the page in another tab as you click save?

Edit:

Yea, it saves it straight away, the ajax is just taking ages ;)

You know too much :P

Isn't the ajax part meant to make it faster and easier to update things? Just checked my IPB forum and all parts of the ajax system to be working. Perhaps the server or some part of the forum isn't set up to handle it :/
