Rofl, me and my "best mate" got fined at the train station because we got off at the station that was further, then got the train back.

But because it was a single, supposedly you cant get a train back without another ticket?? :@.

My ticket said it can go any route permitted, so obvs i could be allowed to do that?

Anyways, the guy took the piss and said that the person i was talking to was the manager..

Can you get in trouble for saying your job which is not meant to be?

and they wouldnt give me a list of rights/TOC.

Yes it sounds like the fine is fair.
you travelled on a section of the line you didnt pay for.
and then you travelled back on it.

Wait, so all you did was get off at the wrong stop, then got the train back to the right stop?

A fines a bit harsh for that, they could of at least said what you did wasn't allowed and let you off, or asked for you to pay for a ticket.

No they shouldnt because they would still get people doing it?
and if they ask you to pay for the ticket then you can just think the worst punishment u can have it to have to pay for what you would anyway.

Yeah, the fine was fair. Train travel companies are always strict with payment unlike buses.

That like me saying, i went to kings cross to bank but i was meant to go to another in between..

Any route permitted means that you get to your destination via any line. For example York - Kings Cross you can Goto York-Leeds changeover not stay in Leeds then Leeds - Doncaster change again to London if you get me,

nope, i cant get out to get the ticket?

You can get a ticket from the ticket conductor (well my friends do it that way I just use the machine at the station)

the fine might be somewhat harsh but I think it's fair

Sounds like you didnt do that much wrong.
Maybe just like a warning wouldve been fair.

Hmmm, if you do it again next time, go to the ticket office for the station you accidentally get off at and see what to do. That's what I'll do anyway, but I'm like that :P
