im curious.. 24h.. seems a reasonable amount of time for a full upgrade, not little things..

There still has to be something big, i mean.. 24 hours.. its a long time when you think about it.. even for preparation

I reckon they're saying it's just to get ready for updates coming soon but then we could be in for a big suprise, who knows? :)

That sucks its just to prepare.
They have to do it. It's not like these chose to take it down for 24 hours. It's something they have to do to prepare the systems.

as microsoft has said on their boads, it is a Preperation, so basicly preparing Live for the dashboard changes.. they are back online..
