Well, I owed them £40 for about two months? Although in the second month, I paid like a few quid of before my mum paid it off fully. As she didn't want me to go into debt in future life. They contacted me with a few reminders and such but not threatened me with anything.

Just pay the 2.08£ it's not worth the hassle it could lead too... ebay is a money making company, untill they get what they want, from EVERYONE there not happy.

How could you owe eBay money?

By selling, it costs so much to place items on the listings and if you add more then one picture. Things like that, although buying is completing free apart from paying the seller of course :P

But Baliff fees will be around £93 if they do pay you a visit so it might be worth paying up and save money :)

Wouldn't the most reasonable suggestion be to pay £2.08, you obviously knew that there were costs when you list an item so of course you're expected to pay it. Also it's not pathetic as you owe a company some money for a service they've provided you. I don't see why you're complaining really?

Ebay wouldn't send bayliffs round :P It would cost them well over £100 for there time. The worst they could do is ban your ebay account, or suspend it untill you pay it back

Not really, it's the same with any company.

You owe them money, therefore if you don't pay up, you suffer the consequences.

which they'd probably charge the non-paying person for.

eBay & PayPal both use Intrum Justitia as eBay is the owner of paypal.
Bascially - you will be charged for the baliffs coming out & they will take moneys worth (rounded to the nearest pound).
Intrum will ring you a few times first, and all you need to do is send them an email with a screenshot showing you have a clear eBay balance (provided you pay it first).
