Just found out about this nifty tool called Perian.

Basically it is multiple QuickTime components together in one simple installation, I had loads of problems with QT and this has solved them all :)

So check it out if some stuff wont play for you in QT, http://perian.org/

That's a firefox & windows issue, i'm running it on mac 10.4.something and i don't get the black background :)
