i don't have MSN set to save my chats, but i need to find a piece of a conversation i had yesterday to show somebody
i know it's possible for emails cause the police do it and stuff so theres a way for emails
but is there a way for msn, or is my conversation gone for good?

If you first log in it asks you whether you wanna save chat logs to your computer and you hit yes/no but if you have MSN Plus then you can view chat logs.

yeah, but my post says i dont have it set to save, and need to read an old one, not is it possible to record my future ones.

Well if you've told it not to, then the answer is obviously no.
If you told it not to save them and it went and did it, well it would suck imo.

If you got MSN Plus you can view chatlogs.

There are readily avalible programs on the internet, provided you have NOT cleared your COMPUTERS cache.

Yeah, the convo's gone. Your PC automatically deletes all traces of it when you exit the chat I think. If you don't want to download any extra programs to save future chats though, follow these steps:

In MSN Messenger select the Tools menu, Options... menu item, and then the Messages tab. At the bottom of the dialog is an item labeled: Message History. Select it and your conversations will be recorded in the directory listed in the box bellow.
