The bot is an RSS feed which posts in the forum when a News Reporter posts on Habbox.com. People seem to feel it simply spams the forum and is irritating. Obviously, I believe otherwise.

You would, you're the News Manager :D
It nulls the point of the forum, people should be posting Habbo News aswell, now they can't because it'll be overlooked by the glorified SpamBot and they'll get told off for posting the same news twice (unless you really want to argue with a Bot). You may aswell have it as a "Read Only" forum, or a huge link that links to Habbox's News.

As I have said in other thread, it doesn't null the point because I don't doubt for one second that non-staff members post Habbo news quicker, the bot just allows for an alternative format of the news to be given. It wasn't designed to take away user discussion, it was designed to generate it.

I wish my account was also used as a bot so my post count was like 100000. :P
I think it just seems a little pointless tbh, my opinion though! :8

An alternative format? That's just going to cause problems when a news reporter reports on news after a member. It'll be post "old news" which, if I remember, gets removed in the news forums because the news is already being discussed. It will be seen as "spam" in some cases, because that's part of the definition of spam :P

Which will, in turn, cause a few problems for the moderation department.

They should have done a poll first to see if people actually want it. (unless they already did, i must have missed it)

Precisely, at least I am looking at the situation in general, not just how it effects the news team :P

This was a decision made as department based, as opposed to community based. It was to increase forum exposure for the news department. When we make department improvements we tend to just make them when they're minor, though we ask about big programs like the HxSS and that sorta thing.
EDIT: I realize I should have posted more. That it is department based does not mean its here to stay, I'm just explaining why we didn't "ask the community". We will make a decision on whether it stays or goes at a later point but we're going to give it a chance first ;)
