View Full Version : Our Details
I think it would be a good idea to have:
Age
Ethnicity
Orientation
First name
Next to our details when we post. We would have the option to to use or not use any of them.
nvr said that it would stretch the userbit but I have come up with a solution for that!

With my avatar stretching my userbit anyway, I have space to add any other options aswell as all the one's I am currently using so it would not stretch my userbit if I added anymore. I'm sure that this would work for many other people aswell!
I think that knowing more about someone helps you to understand there post a bit better in some cases. And it's just interesting anyway! :P
We wouldn't need to use all of them options that I suggested if you felt that they where not needed.
Rate and slate! :)

Everyone has different size pictures, and they have different details on there postbit.

Yes but what I mean is, most of us have space for more details so we wouldn't be stretching the userbit. Even you could probally fit 1 more on without stretching. :P

Sameeeee, i think its ok the way it is.
More details are better than less details in my opinion.

?
More details are better than less details in my opinion. Are you obssed with people knowing your age, sexuality and what ever else you said when it's all your profile?
I am sure if you put forward some ideas for questions they would be put on.

It would work if Habbox Forum used the Linear view by default (I think it's Linear, or standard, or outline, one of them I think) - Because you could have loads of one-line answers like Age, Gender, Location, Orientation etc and it wouldn't effect the way you view the forum, but because of the use of a different view, it would be messy, even if you could fit more underneath, it will still look untidy in the top right hand corner. And I wouldn't even suggest they change the forum view to a different view, because we've all grown accustomed to it.

I am only trying to come up with ideas to make the forum better, every single idea is never successfull you know?

Another long and detailed post that makes perfect sense from you like usual! :P
Is there no other way of making new lines appear next to the current lines?

Anything is possible on a forum :P The only problem is updates. I'm not sure if vBulletins do it but when a new version is released, you have to upload new files over existing old files which will of course cover over any changes, and it depends if the forum implements all the new data. Some will just ignore it because another files doesn't agree with it (if that makes sense) :P
You can have Wii Friend Codes viewable on the forum view though. Hopefully in one update of vBulletin they'll upgrade profiles so you can have the ability to have different snippets of info on view on the forum. IPB forums are having that in the next release at least, but they're miles more advanced than vB :D

No there isn't unelss one of the management decided to allow a certain piece of information to show on the postbit.
You can change the postbit yourself, just go to your options. I am sure you can do it.

I don't think it woudl fit that well, lines would be bigger than your image, you have teh max size avatar on the forum so it would stretch the userbit for most and I don't see the reason for most.
Actually, I can see a reason not to have it. Honestly I think it would prejudice people, I think one of the awesome things about the forums, Habbo, and the internet in general is its easier for us to not judge people by certain aspects of who they are, and we don't erect those barriers. For example, I was reading an explanation about why Habbo decided not to have sound integrated, the different voices might cause conflicts in interaction. Personally, I think it would only serve to divide people more (you're so young you don't know anything, you're too old for this place, you're black omg.) And yes, we can edit posts, but it doesn't need to be said persay, it could happen in our own minds - we do categorize people by race for example - you may not remember their hair color, but you'll sure as hell remember their skin color.
I don't think this is a good idea sorry :(
Problems;
Age - Not much wrong but then maybe some users that are younger could be 'made fun of' for being young?
Ethnicity - Could bring in racial remarks etc.
Orientation - COULD bring in homophobic remarks
First name - Giving away more personal information, Some people don't want to say there first names.
Yeh I know you mean 'They don't have to' but after all this is a Habbo fansite.
+ Yeh it's a community forum but I don't think it's a place for people to give out more information.
It is fine as it is.

As much as I agree with not having this implemented, it is possible to hide your age and it isn't forced upon users to add these details, they do so at their own descretion which I believe is in the ToS anyway. If you don't add details, for example, your Wii Friend Code, it won't appear where your rep points are while if you do at it, it will appear. Just something you may want to know :)

Yeah I know that :)
Just I don't think users should be given the opportunity to give out this much information. Some users may think it is ok to display this then be abused or whatever else and then get rather upset.
I just think the way it is now is fine, And it should stay as it is :)

Depends how you look at it. If a member gets bullied about their name, sexuality and so on, they are allowed to remove it and they keep it there through their own descretion.. Most people seem to know my name by now anyway :P If people feel the need to bully members for being "gay" (even though you can just dive through the Gay/Lesbian forum for this information), then they're pretty sad people really. Although the need for a sexuality option seems a bit pointless. Unless Habbox goes into the dating industry, there seems to be very little use for it. Depends how you look at it though :)

Users have the opportunity to give the information out anyway?
And all the information you suggested could simply be put into your signature :)

I personally don't like the idea but then I've never liked the idea of giving such information out over a forum. As nvr said, it would only create unnecessary conflict and divides between users with people being singled out for who they are. In turn, it would create knock on effects for the forum environment and the work load for forum staff.
