Is anyone here on Virgin Media broadband and has been getting really slow speeds since like 6pm tonight?

I'm just wondering if it's me or if it's a virgin problem. I'm on the new Fibre Optic service, have been for about 3/4 months and it's been amazing so far. I normally get about 10mbits/s(1MB or there abouts) but i'm getting speeds of only 2500kbits/s since 6pm tonight.

Anyone?
:(

Cheers,
Jamie.

It's gone back to normal speed now. I hope it's not a peak time thing like with the copper wireing service. That would suck major ass.

Yeah I had that problem with the old NTL modem. I just phoned them up and they sent out a new one free of charge. I take it you aren't on the fibre optic service yet?

Possibly, i so want fiber optic fgs we've had this modem since the old house, yet weve had a new connection fitted in (when we brought the house, we had to get NTL re installed) but yeh..
When i get it - what speeds should i normally be reaching? i mean - should i be able to play warcraft and download a torrent without and majour latency problems?

OK. Anything ntl:250/Ambit250 or above and your fine. Still having problems then http://192.168.100.1 user root pass root post your upstream and downstream power levels. I will check them and if they're not right, call VM.

Lol @ you all thinking you have a fibre optic connection.

I do have a fibre optic connection. It's not fibre optic to my house but it is to my local exchange they're planning to have every customer with fibre optic right to their houses by 2010.

And just to let you know it's fibre optic to the telephone exchange for every ADSL ISP as well. Also, it's BT who are doing that not Virgin Media ;).

If you download more than 700MB during the day (9AM until 9PM) your speed will be reduced to 2.5Mbps.

Not true. They have changed it since then. It now applies from 9AM onwards
