I think it needs to be changed, people who have been here 2+ years only have 2/3 rep. I think we should personally have more.

Rep's not really a big thing, so no point changing. It's already been changed once :P

1 Rep Power for each Year Registration
1 Rep Power for 500 Rep Points
1 Rep Power for 2,000 posts

That's how I think it should be awarded, what are the current limits?

There was a massive thread about it, and if I remember correctly, it got past 1,000 posts.

No - too little, Jesus would have 22 Rep Power just by his posts which is too much.

The rep system was changed because people were getting high amounts, 49 etc.

Isn't that a good thing. On alot of habbo forums the rep power is higher then that.

Think the posts one is 5,000 but others are right

That's my opinion anyway. :)

No, if people have high rep power it has numerous knock on effects which is why the system was reduced.

If member A had 49 rep power and member B had 48 rep power; they could rep each other meaning they gain large amounts of rep points. With the large amounts of rep points; it makes it easier to get another rep power, which makes it gradually worse and worse.

If Habbox left it like it was, you'd be getting members getting a new piece of rep power each time they got repped.

And if a new member gets negative repped, it'd take them ages to get back into the positive.

I could have sworn I've seen this thread before.

It's all just numbers, if you bump the rep power up you need to bump up what it takes to get it to keep it all in balance. Doesn't matter if it 2 rep power or 2000 as long as it's balanced.

I think that having to get 600 rep points just for 1 rep power is just to much. 5000 posts is very high aswell!

This would be more reasonable:

2500 posts per 1 rep power.
400 rep points per 1 rep power.

Or maybe that's a little to light, but the point is that the amounts needed at the moment are very high end and it wouldn't hurt anyone to bring them down a little. I mean, I have a rep power of...2. Me repping someone is nothing compared to how many more rep points they need for there next block/power.

And there is only a small handfull of users with an extremely high rep power so we would just have to accept that it will go even higher if this idea was put into place. We can't let just a few people spoil the whole forum's fun! :8

Personally I don't see that as an issue to warrant the change :S

Yeh I suppose.. Maybe abit more than 2K posts, Or 2K posts then 5K or something.

Currently it is;

Rep power is the amount of points that you can take or give to some one's reputation. Your rep power increases by 1 point for every:
- 5000 posts
- 600 reputation points
- 365 days (1 year) registered on the forum

It has already been changed, and I think it should just stay as it is at the moment. :)

Last time rep changed there was a big fuss about it. Its best to keep rep as it is.

The only thing in my opinion that needs changing in the rep system is the fact you have to rep everyone and their sister to be able to rep someone else again.

Having to rep 50 different people is a tad extreme. I end up pointless repping just to spread rep so I can rep someone who I think deserves it.

It isn't that often that I try repping the same person again, so that isn't to much of a problem for me. But when I do need to rep someone and I have already repped them recently it is a bit frustrating. 30 is a lot more reasonable (me thinks). :)

But the thing is in your case you may have been registered for a while but you and alot of others have been quite inactive so that's why your rep hasn't changed much. Generally people who have been here for a while tend to have the higher rep powers, take the KKK for example ;).

Rep is fine the way it is, I prefered how it originally was but there's no need to change it again.

You can't rep someone twice unless you rep 50 people between them.

yeah before it got changed though, people had loads of rep power so it was easy to get a high rep so really you shouldn't be complaining because newer people it's harder to get that high o i dunno. yeah, i think it's okay as it.

I remember when the council was about. They suggested good ideas to change it but for some reason the "30 more people to rep before you can rep the same one again" idea never did get changed, and that was the more important part :/

That's not really necessary. Just tone down the amount of people we have to rep before we can rep someone you already have!

Technically, the way before now was way worse. Rep points were only gained through rediculously weird circumstances like 1.5 to 2 years rather than just a year. The only thing that needs changing which seems to be brought up all the time now is, the amount of people you must rep before you rep the same person again should be lowered.
