Hiya,

Basically i've downloaded windows XP SP3 to put on this piece of junk computer that has just been lying there.

there is currently Ubuntu ed hardy edition installed on there,.

I've burned it to a disk (ISO)

When i boot with any other computer, it is able to boot it, and picks it up.

When i try it on the one i want to put it onto, it doesn't

I've told it to look for OS off the disk at startup, then boot from HD. but it dosnt pick up anything from the actual disk. and proceeds to boot from the hard drive.

The computer that im using is

IBM
6269-M2G
And it's from around 2000-2001 peroid.
It was origionally running windows 98 second edition.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

-Kevin.

It may be too old and not able to handle such a rapid update? :S

I thought that myself, do i need to update the bios.

It should be able to handle XP. xp isn't very demanding.

reburn the disk. the reason this would of happened is the computer doesn't reconise it as a system disk aka it yells "look at me damnit" on system bootup

I've burned it twice, is there a certain program i need to make it bootable. i've used InfraRecorder/PowerISO.
