Ok- basically I want to get a PS3, trouble is I don't exactly have the money at the moment.
How much could I get off a console if I were to trade in the following at gamestation/ game?;
ps2 console
2 controllers
1 memory card
17 games (inc Socom US navy seals headset and eye toy)
and is it worth getting an 80g console or just being cheap and getting 40/60?
much love.

Get the 60gb model then you can play PS2 games on it if you like. When I traded in my PS2 last year to get my PS3 in Gamestation, I got £50 trade in for it. Maybe you'll get about £5 trade in for the memory card, £6 each for the controllers and I dunno about the games tbh. Sorry that's a bit vague.

Cheers for that, seems like you got a good deal with the ps2 there. On random internet sites some people say they pay £20-35 per console and 50p-£2 per game!?

Lol, yeah Game/Gamestation are really tight with trade ins. I'd say trade your console/games in at CEX, if you have one of those stores near you.

hopefully my dad will take me to have some cex.

Lmao! :P CEX always have preowned PS3s in there, that's if you want a preowned one. It'll be cheaper preowned, so you'll have to save up for a shorter time. ;) Is your PS2 slim or bulky? Has it got the box? Is your memory card/controllers official? (Just going to see how much trade in you can get)

They sell pretty high- £325 for one 60g ps3 console.
Gamestation were doing £309 for 80g and fifa!
and they only buy crap ps2s for £20 :(! I think gamestation have a thing where they will beat any other trade in offers by £1 or something. meh
erm, box might be in the loft (not 100%), official controller and some crappy blue 8mb memory card I think lol- and yes.. the console is tha fat old one.
btw thanks for your help

You're welcome. Gamestation are quite cheap for consoles. :) But the difference between £309 and £325 is probably the ability to play PS2 games on the 60gb model. Also, 60gb models aren't being manufactured now.

The 60gb models are going to be very hard to find and very expensive as they are no longer made, go for the cheaper model

Yeah, 60's are very hard to find. I sold mine without the box on ebay for £450, just the console, wires etc. :)

Also if you're selling all your ps2 games what's the point?

I think buying a 60gb model would benefit you more. Since they aren't being manufactured anymore as I said before, within a few years time they could be in high demand, thus increasing the value of the PS3 60gb model.
What kind of games? If its games out like since 2006 noone would really play them anymore.
Id say £60 +
