Why isn't Danny Mills in the squad?

Paulio
05-10-2008, 07:29 PM
Why because Downing plays for a crap team?

Downing is a quality player, Capello has said so him self :)

Why isn't Danny Mills in the squad?

Guessing hes with the Under 21s?

Richards and Abonglar (sp)

are with the under 21s because

they need to beat wales in a 2 leg tie to reach the under 21s euro championships and Pearce wants the best squad availvable.

James, Green, Johnson, Bridge, Beckham, Rooney and Defoe.

All don't deserve to be in.

Paulio
05-10-2008, 07:42 PM
Rooney has scored 3 goals in his last 3 matches.

James might not have been up to scratch but he's the best we've got.

Beckham is one of the greatest players England's ever had and him just being there on the bench or whatever improves the moral of the team.

James, Green, Johnson, Bridge, Beckham, Rooney and Defoe.

Downing, ***? He is utter crap for England, there is much better out there. He was McLaren's love-child. Judging by current form, I don't think Jenas or Lescott shoulda been included really, but then again... Jenas played a part in that 4-1 win.

your kidding yes?
Rooney has been on fire especialy when we played croatia Defoe is scoring alot aswell!

Paulio

McLaren's love child yet hes been selected by three different England managers :P

The reason people don't like Downing is because he plays for Boro. If he played for somone like Aston Villa, Liverpool or even the big guns, everyone would love him. You don't have to play for a big team to be a good player. I like Capello because he realises that.

Boro are probably my 2nd premiership team!! It's not that reason I don't like him. I just don't think that he deserves his place in that squad. I know in the last couple of years no English player has stood out during matches, but Downing has been awful.

I agree he has had a few bad games for England but hasnt everyone lol? If players were selected on their England performance's then Gerrard, Terry, Cole and Beckham wouldn't be there. Everytime Downing comes on for England, he gets the ball into the box. I can't wait to see him playing with Crouch in the team.

I agree with that, but with Heskey in place of Defoe and possibly Jenas down the left as he did against Croatia.

The only part which needs changing is the left wing

I would perfer Barry there but who would play as the

DM?

But with only Dowing as are real left wing , lets hope he stays fit throughout the games.

Paulio

RareIce

Who said Downing was crap?

He had the most successful crosses last season, scored 12 goals in all comps and was wanted by 2 big clubs.

Yes, eh ahs a low in form atm but doesn't every player?

The reason he plays **** for England is because the english "supporters" don't support players like Downing, and only support players like Beckham, Gerrard.

If downing switched to real madrid on a 120k week salary then it would be a different story.

Pathetic.

why should you care? you hate England and aren't to shy about publicising it.

But yeh, i agree with the above teams, just not Downing on the left :(

No, I'm not.

Rooney needs discipline - leave him out = detirmation = better player.

Jenas doesn't deserve it either.

Where is Young, Agbonlahor, Lennon, Hart?

Funya Chin

They should be Senior players.

What do they have to do to get into the squad? Week in week out, solid performances.

Our best keeper is Foster or Carson.

Browney

Hart and Agbon are with U21s because the U21 coach requested all the best players possible to advance in their competition. Especially the ones we dont desperately need.

StefanCampbell1

Keep the young players waiting is what Capello is doing, it makes them more hungry to be in the main team, such as Richards, Hart, Agbonlahor, Young, ect.

Definitely the best right winger in England at the moment.

take a look at his stats he's playing brilliant.

4 goals 3 assists in 7 games plus he is playing brilliant passing crossing looks like a new player compared to when he was at chelsea.

But is he consistent with this performance, can he do it for 38 games in a row?

If he can do this for the whole season then yes I agree.

I think if it wasn't for Theo having a great campaign so far I'd agree, but strictly speaking Theo's not a right winger. But I do think we need someone that pacy and I just dont think SWP has that pace anymore.
