Exactly why is every country in the UK minus England so reluctant to fielding an Olympic football team in 2012?

Isn't there a limit to just 3 players over the age of 23? If so I think that will work in everybody elses favour, especially Wales'.

Because

if there formed then they would be expected to play as Team GB

in the competions

such as world cup and euros.

FIFA have allowed for it to be a one-off though.

FIFA might have allowed it to be a one-off but other countries will turn around and say "If you can play as GB in the Olympics, why can't you in other competitions". The GB team will happen and like **** am I watching them. The Welsh FA aren't allowing Welsh players to play anyway.

You're just anti-English, anyway it will just end up England under 21's playing under the name "Team GB" for ALL of our other sorry *** counterparts. (Wales, Scotland) you get the drift.

i think it would be really interesting, wales + scotland have some talent too. (rhys williams cos i'm bias :8), but i also love the fact that i'm not just english, but british.

but why won't Wales allow it?! Their young talent looks more promising than England's at the moment...
