It was 1973 though ... good thing we've learnt a lot since then, but it's still tragic that it always seems to take things like this before changes are ever made

Everyone kept racing because that's how F1 works. No one is supposed to stop because your competitor might be injured. The drivers keep driving and racing as long as the race is going on.

It's ugly, it's cold, it's heartless, but that is part of racing. You won't have much of a career if you jump out of your car every time someone gets in a wreck.

RIP Roger and David. Brave men, both of them.

Agreed, and in terms of gruesomeness - it was when some fire dude got obliterated (literally, nothing left of his body) when he ran into an F1 car to put out a fire, and the driver of the car he hit died because he was beheaded by the fire extinguisher.

I saw a comment about that on YouTube what a coincedence haha. I think I was looking at the idiot who streaked in Silverstone.

But yeah this crash was bad but that's F1 in a way (in terms of crashes).
