Hey, I bought my laptop a few years ago. Not from a computer shop, just a wholesaler. Don't know where my guarantee is or if it still exists. Just to get that over with, my main question is can I update the ram in my laptop? Its currently 1gb with 1.7ghz or 1.6 cant remember. Its not as fast as I would like it, I only live by like a currys, pcworld etc. I do have a maplins though. Its a toshiba but I really dont want to be sending it to Toshiba. So yeah how much would it cost to upgrade it to 2gb or even 3gb if I can! And who can I give it to, to update it and put more ram in. How much also about?

Depends really. The motherboard may restrict the amount you're allowed, and you have to make sure it's compatible :P.

Short answer: Yes. :P But you need to check how much memory is in the banks first etc... that scanner should tell you, I would have thought it would be 2x 512MB sticks.

Nah some newer have 3 so they can squeeze more RAM in without having to go to an x64 OS.
