06 March, London Astoria. Anyone going?
I know it's ages away but I've already bought my ticket as it's one amazing lineup.

I've been a fan of Flobots for about a year now. Much before "Handlebars" was released.

I downloaded all Flobots myspaces song and didn't really like any. Seen Anti-Flag before (by accident) and wasn't really impressed by them either. Rise Against's only decent album was The Sufferer so and I refuse to see them whilst they still preach that Peta2 crap so... No, I wont be going.

The Flobots single doesn't seem like the music of Anti-Flag and Rise Against who all seem to be like standing up for something, when I read it I didn't quite get why they were supporting but I've only heard that song so I don't know.
I'm not going though, the arena is one of the massive ones and I prefer the smaller gigs.

I havent been a fan for that long, but long enough to see them be ruined by endless television adverts. Ah I remember the purevolume days all to well...

I do somewhat agree with this post, Flobots do have significant similarites and differences to both Anti-Flag and Rise Against. But I think this is what makes them that much better, they are able to stand for what they believe in, making music that they enjoy to create, but still be diverse from the common stereotype of the genre. It's also a prime example of a successfull blend of two contrasting genres, rap and alternative. It's new, it's unique and its popular. I'm all for it.
I also am a fan of smaller venues, but i'm going anyway. I've seen Rise Against and Anti-Flag live before, and if this show is half as good im sure it will not dissapoint.
EDIT-

I personaly think that 'Handlebars' is metaphorical for taking life into your own hands and not always playing it safe. Being true to yourself and not conforming by using the handle bars of a bike, being free to make your own decisions. I think its about reminding people to constantly be spontaneous and just let go of responsibilites for short spaces of time. That's what I think is so good about it.
