Archie never actually knew what happened to "Amy".

Ronnie named her Amy but her froster parents obviously called her Danielle.

Everyone things it's Ronnie making up bull but actually its the other way around.

Pretty obvious wasn't it. She didn't really have much to do in the Square, and considering Ronnie suddenly got all, "I WANT MY KID" since she arrived, it was to be expected ;).
