View Full Version : How much damage...
Would taking about 10 paracetamol in 5 mins do to you?

It could possibly kill you. It will cause major damage to both your liver and kidney and if left untreated, you will suffer from a liver failure - At any rate, I wouldn't advise trying it. ;)
Hmm, just from 10? I assumed it would take more

It varies from person to person. Person A could take thirty and be pretty much fine whereas Person B could take ten and die. It depends on lots of things from your current state of health to your body mass to what you've eaten that day.
Hmm, do you reckon eating nothing would prove greater risk? (thanks for help btw)

I can't remember where exactly I heard/read this but I think it has something to do with your body not being able to cope with the paracetamol toxins on an empty stomach (have your parents ever told you to eat before you take a tablet)? A paracetamol overdose can cause the stomach to bleed heavily and if you've eaten it's less likely to happen.

I'm glad I could be of some help and I do hope you weren't planning on trying it and, if you were, you won't now! :)
Ive thought about doing it a lot lately. But knowing that little bit more helps quite a bit. Thanks again

I swear no one would be able to take 30 and live :S
and 10 would definately cause damage.. Lots people ask a question like this and paracetamol is like one of the worse ways to die.. You die slowly it could take a week or more to kill you

And regardless of survival, it leaves permanent liver damage.
If you have permanent liver damage and you do it again, it will kill you right?

10 most likely won't kill you, but there is a possibility of damage to the liver.
15g of paracetamol or more is lethal. So, that's about 30 tablets. I've known people to take this amount and be fine. But I also have known one person to die from an overdose. It was a painful death.
Overdoses aren't the most reliable source to kill yourself from either, you could just end up on diaylsis for the rest of your life from kidney failure, or you could just die from liver failure and in fact; wish you never did it in the first place, but die anyway.
It depends on your weight too. If someone who's overweight takes 30, and someone who's underweight takes the same amount, damage is more prone to take place in the underweight person.
And as previously said, also the last time you ate.
I don't know why you'd want to take a paracetamol overdose seeing as that's one of the most painful deaths out there.

I highly doubt 4 will do anything serious at all. I don't know why you'd want it to, or why you'd take more than needed. If paracetamol doesn't work for your problem, then order stronger painkillers and take the recommended dosage, just don't clash them together.

What happens if you clash them?

Damage or death.

What happens if you clash them?
Because they are both strong, if you are taking one painkillers, ie; paracetamol 500mg, and another painkiller, much stronger than paracetamol, it's taking in more mg's of the painkiller and mixing it together can cause serious complications, especially if you take both pretty daily. They are like mini overdoses. I've been told all the time never to take two painkillers together, you only need one painkiller, you need to be patient and wait for them to work.

Paracetemol overdose is a horrible way to die, if you were thinking about doing this then you are seriously disturbed :P
10 in 'like 5 minutes' would kill you horribly. End of.
At the above talking about the lethal dosage, since the op is clearly not an adult (no offense :P) the amount goes down. Depending on their age im willing ot bet 10 will cause fatal or near fatal damage.

I may not be an adult, but I have a lot of experience, my friends have overdosed on this before, and they suffered zero damage. They are my age, and they did more than 10. I've read that 15g is the lethal dosage, and I've also heard this from doctors. So. Yeah. :eusa_danc
10 in 5 minutes? I don't think so. lol.
Why would you WANT to die like this? Shesh.
I dunno but I wouldn't advise taking more then 20 paracetamols.

I would've advise taking more than the recommended dose. There is a reason why it is called THE RECOMMENDED DOSE. lol.
