What's a good price for an 8GB used/new iPod touch? I've been looking into it on eBay and figured out that people are actually selling some for £120. I'm also interested in buying one, and I was curious to know how the whole wifi internet works.

I understand that you can access YouTube, messenger, etc. from almost anywhere, but I'm curious to know where you can't access it, and how it comes to the iPod Touch. Is it like, phone towers signal out the WiFi, or you have to be near a router or something..

Thanks in advance.

You need to be near a wireless access point, i.e a coffee house, your home etc.. to use the Wifi.

Those £120 ones will be the 1st gen ones (no curved back, microphone or Nike+ support)

It's not a microphone built in, that's the new headphones which are compatible with the 1st Gen iPod Touch.

The 1st & 2nd gen are pretty much the same except 2nd is a fraction thinner and has a (crap) speaker. Oh, and Nike+ Support.

It doesn't use the phone towers because, then it would be a phone? It uses Wi-Fi, so, yes, you need to be near a Wi-Fi hot spot.

And wi-fi comes out of routers just to clarify. Ask your parents if you have a router, or if you use a Laptop to wirelessly browse the internet it's very much likely you do.

Thats why I added support onto the end ;)

The 1st gen touch doesn't support the microphone on those earphones.

Allan Carr, that mic wont work on your laptop.
