Hey guys,
I did this tutorial in my school (swedish). And now, I decided to add it here on HabboxForum, so you guys could watch it.
I had to translate it into english from swedish, but that wasn't any problem.
Anyways, I'm going to tell you some information about colours.
Therefore, it will be easier for you to pick colours next time you design etc.

ENJOY!

This tutorial was created and translated from swedish to english by Meti Mulaj on HabboxForum. You are not allowed to copy this tutorial and add it on other forums claiming it's yours. Copyright © Meti Mulaj

The Basic colours
Ok, I'm going to give you some positive and negative comments about the basic colours, which are: White, red, yellow, brown, green and blue.

Colour: Positive: Negative:
White | Clean, innocence, immaculate | Cold, empty, sterile

Red | Strong, brave, impassioned | Dangerous, aggressive, dominate

Yellow | Happy, cordial, optimistic | Cowardly, annoying, pushy

Brown | Warm, down-to-earth, mature | Dirty, sad, cheap

Green | Natural, calm, relaxing | Jealous, un-experienced, greedy

Blue | Strong, trustworthy, authoritarian | Cold, depressing, gloomy
------------------------------------------

Hope this helped you a bit with choosing colours. If it hasn't, I hope it will :)
I'll might expand this tutorial later.
Enjoy it guys!

I think somebody should be a D&D mod *COUGH* me xD

That's quite helpful, if you do another one say about how to put them together etc =]

+rep (if I can)

You've missed out some stuff e.g. violet and how it gives a regal effect. But apart from that it looks ok. Some things are a bit borderline though, e.g. sterile being a bad thing as in hospitals sterile is a good thing as it shows you are in a clean environment.

I'll try adding them later ;)

This applies to virtually nothing because half of them are wrong. I'm not saying you've got them wrong, it's just wrong that you class colours and use them to define moods etc.

I don't feel cold, depressed and gloomy when I look at my screen, it looks nice so it's there - not for any mood reason.

It's not about how you feel.
It's how they are ;)

Not bad but kuler (http://kuler.adobe.com) for the win. It's much better and easier to get the perfect colors. Also, perhaps a more technical view on different color types? But then again, that is already in the intertubez.

Edit: @above: No way can you not have copied that... exact similarities, you ain't trusted anymore. Jeez.

I promise I didn't watch Microsoft.

Will you just stop lying? It's set out exactly the same and the words are the same. You got caught out and you're now not trusted, well done smart ass.

Meti, stop lying, it's way too obvious -- if you used a translator not all those words would be EXACTLY the same as Microsoft's.

Pointless.

Meti
16-10-2008, 12:39 PM
I promise I used that translator. why won't you try it yourself?
Enter a word that is in the list, then translate it to swedish, then translate it to english again.
See what happens.

Excellent2
16-10-2008, 12:44 PM
Stop using some stupid translator you found off google for an excuse. The words come out the same regardless, -rep.
