I like tests, half days, easy tests and rewards. Don't see why people complain about them as they were extremely easy and don't actually mean anything (well probably the reason for them being scraped).

Kardan
14-10-2008, 06:39 PM
You still have end of year tests though to review your progress, but it'll all be done internally etc. much better :)

OKAY LETS GET THIS OVER AND DONE WITH!

BLOODY YEAR 9 SATS ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO GCSES, THEY ARE PISS EASY AND EVEN MY LITTLE SISTER CAN DO IT! SO STOP MOANING 'OH THERE IS GONNA BE A QUESTION ON WHAT A **** IS, I DONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS I WAS ON HABBOXFORUM ALL NIGHT AND DIDNT REVISE ON CRAPLEANING.COM!'

I don't think any of us were like

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, THE HARD TESTS ARE GOOOONE WOOOOO

They were just a little itch of a test that gnawed on the backs of our necks at the end of Year 9, they are bloody useless now because the government decided to seperate the marking system.

This is a bit O/T but ROFL! ED BALLS!

My old Headteacher (Left this year) has a go at Ed Balls on BBC 1 on some sunday morning show.

He threarted to close a few schools this year and she invited cameras in to show its good enough to stay open. But they were nothing to big , but another less thing for year 9s to panic over.

Bun
14-10-2008, 08:55 PM
they were easy - although that was a bad thing.

i got 8 7 7 in my sats which made the government (and everyone else...)think i was going to get super mint gcse results without help. that plan backfired lol.

You just went slightly overboard (Pun not intended).

They really are the most pointless peice of a crap, I thought that when I was doing them and everyone thought it would shape their future's if they did good or bad, I mean, if you want to judge people's intelligence, don't give me a English test on Shakespearian plays, I was the only one who realised they meaned nothing at the time.

However it is slightly annoying as I did mine last year, and the next year group don't have to get all worked up about them and believe all the crap from the teachers :(

Buttons did make a good point though, they are good practise for entering an exam hall and following exam regulations.

SATs were pointless, good thing they have been got hid of.
Many people panic'd over these when they mean jack all.

Think of it, all exams add up.

I might decided to not revise get 5 5 5 then be in a rubbish set next year, which doesn't allow me to get the GCSE grades that I should be getting.

I might decided to not revise get 5 5 5 then be in a rubbish set next year, which doesn't allow me to get the GCSE grades that I should be getting. However that is usually not the case as schools don't tend to solely rely on a single exam, they look at progress, behavior and multiple exams before coming to the conclusion what set you were in.

I knew what Science group I was in before I even took the exams.

Okay, calm down dear.

I mean, it is quite funny how Year 9s/Year 6s get all worked up about their SATs, and say their suffering from 'exam stress', when in all fairness, they mean jack all.

I did my science and english ones last year, I'm in Yr 9 now so I did them in year 8 :P I dont really care if they're cancelled or not, they were piss easy, although the shakespere one was really boring... Richard III is the worst book/play I have ever read in my life LOL

Havent done the maths ones yet, dont think the current year nines have to now though, because on bbc news, it said they were scrapped with imminent effect.

About time the Year 9 SATs have gone... the Year 9 system has had flaws virtually every year (well, every year in the last 7 that I can recall).

Okay let's get this over and done with... GCSEs are £$%& easy, even my little brother can do it (he has done them, actually).

Life gets harder. Get used to it. SATs will seem difficult at the time because you haven't been given anything more challenging... so they are the most difficult obstacle you have crossed. Same goes for GCSEs, until you've done them. Same goes for AS-level, and to some extent A2.

Take a look at the real world before you start moaning so obnoxiously.

im totally ignorant to SATs and GCSEs. In bonnie scotland its;

Standard Grade
Int 1
Int 2
Higher
Advanced Higher

with most people doing some Standard grades, some Int 2s, and then going onto higher and Advanced highers if you can be arsed.

You have it so easy in Europe with school. You get SO MUCH TIME OFF! Two weeks just because it's mid term.

Not as much as we used to...

We get 6 weeks off in summer, 2 in Christmas, 2 in Easter then 1 in October, 1 in February and 1 for May for half terms.

Which is 13 weeks out of 52 in total. That's still 37 weeks at school...

Yeah, the sats were a total fail anyway.
We did them in year 8; in our school.

So yeah, WOOP for the people who don't have to do them.
But you'll prob' just have to start your GCSEs a year early.
Like we did.

It's about time aswell. I've tooken mine now, but i've always wanted them to release that they've gone.

Those saying " dang they were good for getting out of lessons ". Correct me if I'm wrong but SATS are basically lessons for students but with added pressure?

Thanks.

ahaha SATS are hilarious though!! everyone running around pretending they actually MEAN something.

its not really fair for people who had to do them but i just hope the year 9 people get loads of module tests, and suffer that way aha.
