Hi, i have a DVD-ROM drive which is capleable of reading and burning CD/DVD's (RW,R,etc)

Now i have just put in a disk (first time in a lil while) and i hear funny noises when its reading.. it sounds as if its spinning but dropping the RPM slightly .. as if its struggling.. its nota loud noise but its a concerning one.

It is time for a new drive?
(Itso nly 1year old) or thats what the guy @ shop said.. i think its older.

Yeah i tried another drive and DVD didnt work, (probs a install bug)
but ;
i've opened my case while the disc was in and i couldnt see any vibrations although my 2 drives are very close.. coulda been vibration i suppose, ill have a shift around later

Still, any help would be appreceiated

It's either getting a new one or taking it out, looking in side and seeing if anything is wrong.

I'm going to run and burn sum Discs.. see if the noise continues.. i'll also consider taking it outta the cage (or whatever its called thzat holds it in) and see if it makes a noise then.

If it's Internal, it's usual for a drop in speed during burning and reading.
If it's very loud, check the connection to your computer.

Thats normal. Usually depends on your reader.
