Whats the difference in embedding a picture of you, or posting a link to a pictue of you?

I don't see why we can't tbh.. If its us and we choose to post, we should have full right to embed to the forum, and there isn't no safety risk as links are just the same!

1) Habbo rules say fansites are allowed to let people to do so.
2) Saying the forum isn't official doesn't make a difference because the fansite way is for all fansites.

In answer to your question, I have no idea. Maybe it's because it means they're partially hosting it or something?

Fansite rules also prohibit sites from selling VIP do they not?

Ever considered it's because people will get bullied if they embed?

They could still be bullied even if they link to them

Posting a link will make the page load much faster :)

Posting links = gives the users a choice of seeing a picture or not, embedding = seeing the picture without a choice.
It's fine the way it is and should be left like it, lucky Habbox even started allowing links to be posted.

Links can be put somewhere that can be removed easily by you. Forum posts can't be deleted without going to a staff member and we don't want people contacting us asking forum images to be removed for whatever reason and it causing us an issue. :) Also posting links means that the threads are not cluttered with pictures of people whereas links are easier to just see individually and it doesn't slow down page load as much. I don't see what the issue with just linking to a picture is anyway?

Fansites CAN:
- Post fun, friendly Habbo news with your own analysis.
- Hold competitions and parties in Habbo.
- Allow all Habbos to join in without discrimination.
- Discuss non-offensive Habbo gossip on forums.
- Create fun, non-offensive alterations.
- Offer help for new and old Habbos.
- Hold events for your readers.
- Allow your visitors to post a photo of themselves that's appropriate and does not contain personal information.
- Offset your hosting costs with advertising banners or ad words.
- Use publically accessible images created and owned by Sulake Corporation Oy responsibly and within the restrictions of the Fansite Way and Terms & Conditions of Habbo Hotel.

Fansites Must NOT:
- Offer Hacking, Scripting or Editing Programs.
- Publish any unreleased news regarding updates, new Furni or features without Sulake's prior permission.
- Ask visitors for their Habbo passwords or personal information such as telephone numbers or home address.
- Charge users for premium services such as VIP access.
- Act as an affiliate for a commercial entity, nor offer merchandise (including Habbo Furni) or services for sale.
- Offer to buy, sell or trade Habbo accounts for real money or Habbo Credits.
- Break the law or talk others into breaking it.
- Publish any material which may be offensive to other users or contains sexual content.
- Publish any personal information, pictures, video or documents belonging to Sulake Corporation Oy.
- Use slander or any other form of bullying in order to harass other people.
- Disrupt the operation of any other official or unofficial fansite nor disrupt the Hotel community.
- Replicate any part of the Habbo Hotel service ('Retro' Hotels, Habbo Home clones etc).
- Represent that your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy or that any other content on your site is approved by or affiliated with Sulake Corporation Oy.

It's not against the fansite way ;) Unless the majority of members here are part of the Sulake Corporation, which seems unlikely. I really see no problem with this, moderators are there to stop bullying. Not allowing members to post pictures is kinda odd, when if a member wants to bully, they can do it through other means e.g. swearing.

At the end of the day though, I don't really care, if you want to see a member ask for their MSN or go through the picture thread in the spam forum.

Anyway, I think it should be left as it is. You need to consider the fact that people may not actually want to see real life photos of other members. It also means faster loading times - I can't really see an advantage of it being allowed.

Oh shut up, you have never been a manager, infact you've never had any other job other than as a Graphics designer. Before you got your name changed this account used to be called ,SV and you're first account was "Truecolours". You switched accounts due to getting hated on that account.
Why would being ex-staff make you disliked? There are far many different reasons why people dislike you and infact this is one of those reasons .

Hmm maybe they just don't want to be held responsible for anything that could happen as a result as posting pictures of yourself.... (lol I know what I mean but can't explain it.) A disclaimer like 'Habbox is no way responsible for any images that may cause offence etc etc etc etc' would have solved that problem though

edit: just read the whole thread and Jay's reasoning sounds reasonable lol... (this is why I should stop being lazy and read it all).

You're disliked so much on this acount because you're full of bullcrap. Seriously, is your life so crap that you have to come online and lie about it? I was a manager and an admin in 2005 and as far as I can remember, you wern't even staff. People like JackHb and Seacat wouldn't have looked at you twice, never mind make you an AGM.

And for the record, it was Assistant Site Manager back then, not General.

People like you make the forum so god damn annoying to read, I was just basically having a sacastic laugh with slowpoke and you've all obviously tooken it way out of hand, and being what you was, I thought you would have the matureness to understand a situation to not reply with a revelant post such as you've put.

And for the ''no life'' that jokes got so old, your just burying it more and more. I know my life, if I wanna post what I get up to, I'm free to, I don't need to be told by a bunch of people I don't even know that I'm a fake, because clearly I'm not -.-
