The games forum should be deleted

Deleting the games forum? Management would never do that, but then when it comes to the "Post your ___ " threads which don't have much spam its fine to close/lock them.

The whole of the games forum is based on spam, yet in threads like post your setup most posts were constructive and were not spam. The posts that were against the rules were dealt with like any other thread, so I don't see why it couldn't stay like that.

But to be fair, the spam forum has more worthwhile posts than the games forum.

Spam has stuff like 'What did I do today?' and people discuss that whereas the 'games' hve stuff like '2, never seen you before.' and 'Same colour username.'

Yeah, the forum games are good to do when you are bored or there isn't much to do. It would be a lot better if post count didn't increase. I don't think the whole forum should be deleted - however if post count didnt increase in there you can bet a lot of people will stop posting in them :P

Indeed if post count for there was removed, noone would post (maybe you would sam :P) so it would probably get removed in the long term anyways :P

It does seem quite logical that post count shouldn't increase in that forum as it is a key place for people to attempt to pointlessly raise their post count. I'll bring this up with the management as I do agree post count should be disabled however it is used and liked by quite a few people so in my opinion it shouldn't be deleted totally. :)

This is a issue that really needs to be dealt with. Their is a reason it keeps being brought up and i dont think some admin understand that.

I beg to differ, people like it because they can get easy post count without getting banned/infracted/warned (hi jord and remember Jesus/redneck, jamie i think his name was with 10k posts in there:P) if there was no post count in there the odd person would post there and would rarely be active.

Yes but really the whole idea of the forum shouldn't be a "spam forum with post count" otherwise that entire forum becomes pointless. I think the post count should be removed and then if no one uses the section anymore removing it could be considered however I still think peopel would use it for fun - people use the spam forum a lot depite there being no increase in post count. :)

Well if the game loose the constructive edge it just shows the forum is only worthwhile for spam posting to increase post count anyway as it is now which makes the forum pretty pointless and just an excuse to raise post count. With correct moderation this issue could be less of a problem also?

They aren't really that constructive. Usually it consists of posting a few words and it doesnt have a community feel to it. There isn't anything other than just posting some words, like its not as if you can get some decent and fun discussion out of it.

Only reason people post constructivly in the forum games is because they know if they can post properly they can't get their posts removed or warned/infracted etc as its on topic, spam forum is popular as people can post anything, not having to stick to the topic of the thread and can post anything they wish to within reason.

I don't see the point in that forum, all those posts can belong in a regular forum. Keeping it is just asking for trouble, it is just a glorified spam forum :P

Have agreed with the above from the start but it's never happened for reasons that are beyond me.

Whether they're used for free post counts or not.. why do you care? Are you jealous that they have a higher post count then you? Does it really bother you that much? It's a post count, that's it. It doesn't make them better then you because they have a high number next to their name. If you want a higher post count, join into the games too and then maybe you'll be the one with the higher post count.

Basically, a post count is a post count - bottom line.
It doesn't affect me whatsoever if I have less posts then the next guy because he spammed.

It shouldn't be deleted, just moved to a sub-forum in spam. The amount of users that spam it up to raise their post count is ridiculous. I don't think its right when having a higher post count grants you to larger avatar sizes, etc.
