They are not rumors, they did actually develop 'Habbo 2' for a while.
They then stopped complete development..

• good sketching skills
• excellent co-operation and team work skills
• fluent English (written and spoken)

it doesn't mean anything, they wouldn't employee one designer for a whole new project, its most likely an new aspect of habbo or another one of their brands

Sounds like there not making a new virtual world, but just updating an existing virtual world to 3D and giving it a new title..

It seems to me that it is a new virtual world and they would not replace habbo hotel for it, but it looks good after all. :)

EDIT: I also think that because it says habbo on it they will translate your items into 3d but still keep the old hotel also.

Cos to built a new virtual world, it would take a few years.

So they would need to keep Habbo 2D updated still.

But I don't think they would make Habbo 3D. Fansites would go down, all of us lot would leave (Well, by the time they made it 3D we would have left :P).

Clubtropica was a huge soical network scam, They tried to make everyone quit habbo and join there site saying they was a 3d world coming there just about a year late. I remember them saying i could be a beta tester lol then they said there servers crashed lol.

Nah my bet is its for another project. They have side ones all the time like cokemusic that weird disney one, its probably not even habbo related.

And to join in on the 2D/3D discussion I'd say habbo is 2D Isometric.
It uses flat sprites with manipulated layering. Where as a 3D game uses rendered sprites which can be viewed from different angles / camera views.
