Can anyone give me info on them or links to some decent cards?

My system is 2gbram, dual core, 320gb HDD, windows vista HP and as far as i know, PSU is 250max.

Well uif you need a half height card you don't have much choice.

Maybe post what model your PC is or how old it is so we can get an idea of what socket it might be.

Edit: Just seen it's PCI-E.

You do understand that memory would not be the biggest factor in graphics performance in this case don't you?

Yeah, it's slimline one

It depends on what you're using it for. If you're just a general user - internet and office work type of things then no. If you play the occasional game then the one i posted will give a significant improvement. You probably won't bnotice much between a 512MB and 256MB card otherwise.

Yeah, i play occasional games, simulators and sometimes tycoon games.

Indeed, but if the user requests something i'd find somthing which suits their needs rather than ignoring it :)

Then you can suggest a better option and adapt to their needs as you find out more about the situation ;).

If i ever post needing help and i state something i wish to have then they post completely different i get annoyed as they can't read so i tend not to do it to others who post :P I'll leave it at that.

Try overclockers.co.uk scan.co.uk maplin.com ebuyer.com for other cards :P

If you state you explicitly want something, even if you know there is a better option than that is fine. In this case though, the thread starter stated that they were looking for something better, they did not state that it specifically must be 512MB, but they hinted that it would be nice. They asked for information and advice on graphics cards and it was given. Maybe you can't weigh up the merits of specific things too well?

With a 250w PSU, you dont have alot of options.

I have the Dell Inspiron 530 (not slimline) and it had a 350W PSU in and I bought a 8500GT 1GB card. it works good but I doubt it will fit in the slimline one.
