Layer via cut isn't working for me, don't know why :( Any remedies appreciated ;)

To activate New Layer Via Cut you must first make a selection using one of the selection tools. Just to be clear, this option will cut and paste the selection...

rasterise the layer, then cut.

Lol Luke. How could you forget to select the layer? :P If that doesn't work, rasterize it.
