I'm a Habbox (Trialist) News Reporter myself, but I really detest the idea of the News Bot in the main UK News and Rumours section. Yeah, Habbox has great news, but the majority of it is reported on Habbox Forum before it is on Habbox.
The majority of the time, the news is already been posted in the forum, thus just creating an opportunity for spam (ie. OMG I HATE DIS BOT or ALREDI POSTED!).
I don't like the bot or what it does - I wouldn't mind a seperate subforum for it, but not in the main section.

Ok so I don't know what abstain means but i presume it involves the end of the bot so I voted for that :)

I don't have major problems with it, and I know it's a good idea but I don't think it's nescesary.

abstain means your answer is " i dont really know/care"

Abstain means you're not interested ;)
And I think it should be moved to a seperate sub-forum.

Half of the time, when someone posts it on the forums it then gets post on the site so they obviously take it from the forum, so we don't need the bot.

Technically, abstain is the same as answer 1, to keep it, as abstain usually means you don't want to vote, and due to the bot existing now it technially means keep it as it is :P
I think either get rid of it or have it in a sub-forum, even though having a sub-forum for it is pointless. If people want to read Habbox News, they'll go to the forum, rather than a sub-forum which is why a subby would be pointless :P
Also, nvrspk4 said that if people are still anti-spambot after two weeks (which was about 4 weeks ago :P), they'll remove it.

It doesn't really bother me but to be fair I don't see how it's beneficial to Habbox. It works well on smaller Habbo forums because they don't have the users to post the news. However, on Habbox the news is always posted in that forum, without fail so it's not needed.

If I am correct, the RSS feed was brought out so that the Habbox News could get more views as no one was reading the Reports.

As true as that may be, it's not fair for members who were using the forum before hand and preferred talking to other members about their articles and reports. A bot is just an anti-social, pushy way to force Habbox News upon members. I say force, because you can't ignore the bot because there won't be any news, due to multiple threads by any memembers will be removed.
The old system was and is the best, regardless of how the news reporters feel.

To be honest with you, I don't think you're last sentence is at all fair. For One, I said it should be in a sub-forum, I was just answering Jake's question.
Two, it's even more unfair for the News Reporters who have to write up the reports when the only thing the members do is copy and paste of Habbo.

Not all members copy and paste it, some start up some interesting rumours and isn't Habbox news just Habbo news re-worded? Pretty much as bad as copying and pasting, you may aswell read it on Habbo if you desperately want to know Habbo news. Might be why Habbo news on fansites lately is a bit pointless. In the past it would of been good, but not when Habbo show their news on the homepage.
Also... This lag you get with posting replies on Habbox... Has this got something to do with it failing to load a page saying "Your post has been submitted, please wait" which appears afterwards or is that an idea and nothing else?

Some staff might copy and paste but I sure don't. Please don't start bringing in fiction when that is completely untrue.

It's not unfair for news reporters at all - it's how Habbo has changed. Back in 2004, they'd be one or two articles a month (with most of them being credit changes -.-) and they'd be the newsletter each week. Most people didn't know the latest goings on, hence why fansites giving news was handy.
These days there's numerous articles throughout the week, meaning less people need to get news off fansites because all the information is there.
And if Habbox want to do an RSS feed, why don't they bloody do the Habbo RSS feed rather than the Habbox one? At least it won't be repeating old news... But better yet... have no feeds :)

In repsonse to news on fansites being pointless, that is your point of view. Loads of people visit habbo fansites for News, with Habbox being the most popular. It isn't copy and pasted, it is wrote differently and aimed to be more interesting. From a sample of UK Reports on Habbox to Habbo Reports, I strongly think that Habbox reports are far more interesting.
I think that it would be more useful in a sub-forum though :)
I don't know about the lag but I shouldnt think so. I will ask Jin soon.

I never said they copied and pasted, I said it's about as good as copying and pasting Habbo news when you get the same information, just worded differently. Which is why you may aswell read official Habbo news when it's splashed on the index page for Habbo www.habbo.co.uk (if you want to bring in forcing people to read Habbox news).

Surely that ruins the Habbo News forum? :P Considering multiple threads are usually closed and because the bot gets priority, it means that you see no news? :P

The bit in bold is what I was talking about. habbo news was hard to come by because Habbo news (once called Habbohood Happenings) was a huge page with hundreds of articles released once a week, so recent news was never mentioned. Now Habbo gives news on anything as it happens.
get over it :S I use UK news and rumours and don't find it the slightest bit annoying :eusa_whis
