Well i found this out today i don't think anyone else knows this but probably, anyways
Go on Single player/Co-op - does not really matter
Go on ambush - does not matter on difficulty
And when you've killed a couple of people pick the AK-47 up and keep that as you're first gun and use it until the end of the mission (after you've defused the bomb)
And then when you go on to the next mission you should have the AK-47 as you're first weapon this gun will not be unlocked it's still locked so don't change it if you want to keep it but you can change the scope, put laser sight on it etc.
then exit the mission where you're on the helicopter and you'll still have the gun even after you've logged out and back in
It works on XBOX 360 not sure on PS3
