Secrets about people.

So, yeah.

A few weeks ago I found out from me best friend that i've known since I was about 2 was that she took a paracetamol overdose 2 years ago. It was a really hard time for her as she had been having migranes for about a year and was insanly lonley. I think she just wanted it to stop. But then she realised what she'd done and ran to her mum and she made her sick them up.

But what I found strange was that during this there had been alot of talk about suicide as my friend from primary school had repeatedly attempted suicide. She saw how this affected her best friends (me and my other best friend) but she still took the overdose. She managed to keep this a secret for 2 years. Now I look back I see her sudden change in attitude, when talking about perscription drugs and paracetamol but I still can't understand why she didn't tell me. It's not like we tell each other everything but somthing serious like this she could of told me when we were alone on the bus or somthing?

So, yeah, have any of your friends ever kept a secret that you thought they should of told you?

(Please don't go calling my friend stupid for doing this as I don't think you can judge her without knowing her at the time.)

I wouldn't be too bothered if she didn't tell me, if she was going through a bad time she might of wanted not to tell anyone for many reason, emotional? embarrassed? Am sure some friends have kept secrets from me but that's upto them.

I wouldn't be too upset with her for not telling you. It seems it was something a little too personal for her and indeed for yourself. It's not really rare nowadays, hearing teenagers over-dosing on paracetamol so calling her stupid would be quite dim of whoever will call her that. She was more confused or depressed than stupid, and she probably never knew who to turn to and some never do tell others. Just be glad she told you :)

I don't think I've ever had friends tell me secrets like this, all of my friends are open about these sort of things anyway :P

Yeah, I guess you guys are right. I dunno. I just feel a little betrayed or somthing. I think I just needed to get it off my chest.

Yeah, i think it depends on the person and your relationship with the person, i have friends who'll tell me anything because they can trust me, and NOTHING has EVER left my mouth

im the best person to tell secrets as i just forget em.

i dont expect my friends to tell me anything as its their business. in your case, you shouldnt worry about your friend not telling you anything, as at the end of the day, as i mentioned earlier, its her business and she'll tell you or others whatever when shes ready as she, or anyone for that matter doesnt have to tell anyone anything. just because theres the 'best friend' status, doesnt mean that everyone has to tell each other everything - as there are things people still want to keep private.
