Which is PCI-E? the 8600GT is PCI-E, i have no idea about the 7050 though, if you know thats PCI-E then yeah its fine :P

Desktops better for games n stuff...

Its very easy to build a computer, try google'ing im sure there'll be alot of guides ;)
