Right, I told my mum I want a dog/cat and ill pay for it and pay to look after it etc. She said with what money? I sadi EMA. and she just aviods the question then but i love cats and dogs and really want one. Any tips to try and change my mothers mind? :( please, id love a cat/dog

get one from the rspca. and i dont have a pet, but monthly, i dont think the costs would be too high for a pet.

dude first be aware what a one would cost to buy and look after. make sure you can afford it before you go diving into anything man. really i have a dog obviously i love him but i know its not cheap.

Its not cheap at all.

You get loads of injections when its a puppy.
Your looking around £200-500.

When he gets ill, your looking around £50 for a box of tablets.

Even if you get pet insurance, you pay the first £50.

Also, if you ever put him in the kennels, its not cheap, about £12 a night.

And then they have the chance of catching Kennel Cough if they are not vaccinated with the Kennel Cough jab, which costs about £50 too.

Then theres food, bedding, toys, treats etc, etc.

:S it seems pricy but ill do anything for a pet. Cats will be cheaper?

Your going to buy / keep a cat / dog on your ema? whats that £30 a week? That's not enough lol

We got ours free from the RSPCA. The only thing we had to pay for was to get her neutered but some of them probably all ready are.

plus, if your on EMA, if you choose to go to university then whats gonna happen to your pet?

you should pay a cat (like 1 year old) its still a kitten till there 2 and it should of had all its jabs ect.. same to dogs

I had a dog once, but then I gave it away, and the owners lost him.
