Can you actually see people wonder about on it while in story mode from xbox live, and can you see them speak and stuff?

There is an option where you see just about everyone who is playing the game, I only have it set to friends but it can be played as an MMO with the amount of people that can be running around on your screen xD

By default it shows your friends orbs running around, when they are close to you, you can speak to them with out going into their game or going into chat. I got quite a fright when someone started talking to me LOL.

Aha. I just set it to "Everyone" and about 10 people appeared in Gile's Farm Cellar.

Start > Options > Game > Switch Orbs to Everyone.
