It looks like an alright film. Some Bond films are way too over the top, but this looks quite cool. I quite like the look of the video game too.

I went to see it earlier today (Thanks Movietickets.com) and really enjoyed it. I would definetly suggest you go see it if you enjoyed Casino Royale

I watched the second screening today. Was a great film. All the advertisers want to get their ad in before the film so expect 40 minutes or so of ads when you go and see it!
Its very fast moving but still manages to be very long and interesting. A lot of big stunts involved.

It's good but isn't as good as Casino Royale... ;)

It was all fully booked apart from the 9:40 showing, which soon got booked up after we bought tickets. :P
Quantum of Solace was great, but it is no Casino Royale, but then again it doesn't need to be. Daniel Craig managed to play an even more grittier Bond than before, and the film definitely delivers. Within like the first 20 minutes there is around 5 action sequences, they're all amazing. Some might say there is too much action and not enough depth though. I felt that the film did seem kind of rushed and squashed together, some things happen a bit to fast and it even lost me at one point. So I kind of agree with that point, but it's amazing nethertheless. The classic Bond opening with the new song worked quite well, but it didn't feel the same as the themes and openings in the previous Bond films. Overall though, a great Bond film and another great performance from Daniel Craig. I recommend it, but don't go in expecting Casino Royale standards.

Yeah, I REALLY want to see this one. Looks like a ton of action.
Also, the first one, with the new actor (don't know his name), everyone thought he wasn't gonna be good. He is now the best in my opinion.

How was it?
There were NO gadgets, no stealth a VERY weak story line... the story was poorerly told and you barerly knew what was going on. Then it seem'd to jump a bit and all quickly climax at the end.
Casino Royale was better, didn't really see the meaning of the story
I saw it today. I liked it although the ending should have been a bit more exciting (:

Very clever. And it's so obvious that there's to be another sequal...
The fact greene got shot in the head... the Q badges... the fact that minister guy knew he was dealing with villains

the company who have people everywhere are called Quantum. Greene says it in the end, before Bond leaves him.
and tbh, I'm with Neversoft. Its no Casino Royale, its a couple of steps behind that, but I would still recommend seeing it. Its only second to Casino Royale out of all the Bond films.

When the new Bonds were going to be made, they decided they'd take bond in a new direction. A gritty, a real Bond. No gadget watches that can hold his weight on a peice of thread. The film isn't about stealth! M even says she thinks James has 'inconsolable rage' and he just goes around killing people. This is the point of the film! Bond wants revenge, and so he goes on the warpath. A very weak storyline? Its about revenge, its all been about revenge! I cant see a stronger storyline, a more classic storyline than that!

Agreed.
All this, added to the fact the end was just like... Is that the end?
The storyline was pointless, it had no real meaning to it, making it EXTREMELY weak. It was erratic and too faced paced the whole way through the film. All this added to the fact there was no sex, no gadgets and hardly any cars =/

the words Quantum of Solace were found in a scrap book of Flemmings that he used to to write notes for his books, though he never grew on the idea (evidently).

Can I just point out that there were also no gadgets in Casino Royale. So listing that as a bad thing in Quantum of Solace but then going on to praise Casino Royale is stupid.
The story did feel rushed, but it wasn't pointless. It tied up a few loose ends that Casino Royale left open, and delved more into Bond's character. Also, there was sex, just not on screen. Which was kind of strange, but it is there, however inconspicuous it may be.
As for the car comment... there's a car chase in almost every Bond movie. The one in Quantum of Solace just happened to be right at the beginning, so it might seem like car's were absent in this film, but they are there just as much as they are in any other Bond movie.
I think maybe Casino Royale set the standards a bit too high, but you should have known it would be extremely hard to out do Daniel Craig's first Bond movie anyway. Quantum of Solace deserves more praise than a few of you are offering.
Going to watch it on Saturday, I really enjoyed Casino Royale.

for those who don't know... Quantum of Solace translates (i think from latin) as "a little bit of peace" or "quantity of peace"
I didn't work it out myself nor is it from google translate.

True. But that was a bad point about the last film.
And at the same time, left open new loose ends, which will need another film to explain?
And that's all we see of a car, which is ridiculous, cars usually feature greatly in bond films. Whereas, not so in QoS.
We'll see what the critics say, but personally, I don't like it.
I watched it, it was really good.
I loved at the bit where the girl picked him up in that mini car and found that briefcase and she knew he 'was' meant to kill her even though it wasn't his briefcase, then she shot through the window and he got out of the car and the guy goes 'You was meant to shoot her.' and he goes 'Well I missed, okay.' and threw him off the bike. :P

The story within the main story with that girl& general guy annoyed me. I was also surprised at how quickly it wrapped up, I was thinking, er... is this it? It was ok but it wasnt fantastic imo. I liked Casino Royale much more, not comparing them, I just liked it.

The film was a 12A, obviously there was no sex, there was a kinky scene but it was kept mature because it's not an 18.. There where quiet a few gadets if you mean by his mobile and that desk where they could see pictures, who cares if he doesn't hook to the top of a building and smash through the glass? It was still quality.

Is that a bad thing...?
Please tell me which Bond films feature more car action than Quantum of Solace. I can't remember there being much car's in Casino Royale, or in the old Bond films. It's the Pierce Brosnan era that actually took advantage of car's, and since they're the films we have all grown up with, car's might seem like a standard, but if you watch the older films you'll see that there is a perfect amount of car screen time. Also, Quantum of Solace didn't really need to use any car's apart from in the opening. You should never use something you don't need. And if I remember correctly, they destroyed around 14 Aston Martin's, don't you think that's enough?
Everyone's a critic, and we all have mixed opinions. Fair enough if you don't like it, I'm just pointing out that your reasons aren't fully valid.

Jack white is amazing in it, he composed and did most of the instruments but I think Alicia is below standards.

Fair doos I'm not much of an Alicia fan to be honest I just liked the song and the style of music. I often watch a movie and enjoy the soundtrack in the background (Instrumental and Vocal) and often end up buying it

As an action film it's really good. In my opinion, it lacks sex... To put it bluntly. There's no smoothness in it - It's more like a war film than a Bond film.

Not seen this yet, will probably wait until it's out on DVD.
Casino Royale is the only Bond film I've ever seen, and it's very good.
We're studying James Bond in Media Studies, and currently watching Dr. No. Will be watching Casino Royale next week, and then Die Another Day the week after. Can't wait to see Quantum of Solace.. :)

I thought it was really good.
He's a different kind of Bond, we all know that - and whether you agree with it or not - you can't deny that he's damn good at playing the role he's trying to achieve.
It's more dark and less funny than previous ones.
But the story is a lot deeper and I personally, think it is a lot better.
I believe its come a long way since the silly invisible car Brosnan days. He has feelings now, he's a human being, and not just a predictable robot with a cool car.
is it worth paying to go see?
Yeah it is.

It was good, the ending left me a bit like... what... though.
Honestly, I didnt think it was very good :x
There were far to many random characters being introduced through out and way to many sub-plots, which made it overall pretty confusing.
Also, it pretty much lacked a main purpose... like Bond had no real goal? =\
