Okay i have a number of things i want help with about dual boot

1)

How can i make a dual boot on my computer as i have vista and i want to add ubuntu as a dual boot (i have two HDDs i want vista on c:\ and i want ubuntu on d:\ and d:\ is a usb external HDD)

2)

How can a delete a dual boot if i do it the why i have asked in 1).

3)

How can i make a dual boot on my computer as i have vista and i want to add ubuntu as a dual boot on the one HDD c:\

4)

How can a delete a dual boot if i do it the why i have asked in 3).

1) If you did that wouldn't it be incredibly slow as the speed of a internal SATA connection is a hell of alot faster than a high speed USB connection? I've never done that and always ran dual boot off the same hard drive, although you could do it im sure but you'd have to change bios everytime you started from Internal to external would you not?

2) Start your computer go into windows vista and delete the files from the external HDD?

3) You can format so the partition is smaller then create a new partition

Control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk management > right click on your main partition and click 'Shrink volume' then create a new one.

4) Remove the partition and you can read more;

Thank you but to make live easy i got "VMware WS"

Install WuBi from Windows onto the D:/ drive. It will then install Ubuntu and make it dual boot for you.

Its extremely easy!
