Hey there
Well, when I download movie which are dvd quality, the resolution is usually set to my monitor size which is why it has good quality.
however, when i connect my pc to my 26inch tv, the imagine looks stretched

Is there anyway to change the resolution of the movie so that it looks like dvd quality on my tv rather than strethed?

TY and have a nice night
*staying awake for answers*

Are you using the TV as your only monitor? if you are just replicating the image from your current monitor, then it's going to be stretched. You need to use the TV as your main monitor.

Other than that, it shouldn't be stretched at all.

or use the GOM player, it better for hd movies and does things like watch the movie in 2 screens, so i assume it would know how to sort it problems out with a bigger screeen

Change the screen resolution to the native res of your TV or as close as it will go.

For Windows XP right click desktop > properties > setings tab > drag the slider relating to the TV to whatever res it it. Maybe something like 1360 x 768.
