2 Monitors isn't great, I tried it. The gap between them gets in your way and hurts your eyes when you look at it for hours, moving your eyes a lot.

Staples sell monitors for a reasonably good price. You can go on their website to find the prices, but I recommend the Acer ones, the 22" monitors are under £190 I believe...

Thats why you dont have a gap ;)

You can't help but have a gap! The frame around the monitors create a gap of about an inch.

Not really, a small bit of plastic if you get the right monitors.

scottish

I've used dual screen before theres no problem with a small bit of plastic in the middle, as for acer nty ryan :P

Good Luck

Check your graphics card will support it before buying. I beleive you need a 1680x1050 resolution.

One bad thing about that monitor is that is uses a VGA connection, DVI is in most new graphics card, if the monitor you buy has DVI, you wont need to buy any adapters.

Er, no you don't thats the maximum......

If you're going to buy a new monitor, its best to run it at the maximum resolution for the best image quality. Of course, you don't have to.

Which is another point that you didn't even read it before attempting to post.

"I beleive you need a 1680x1050 resolution." Failed.

Anyone elses views on the monitor please? :)

I apologise for that. I was supposed to put "I beleive you need a 1680x1050 resolution for the full quality this monitor can offer".

Also, i'd recommend having 2x22" if you are not sitting with the monitors directly in front of you, you will need at least 30CM of space to stop your eyes straining. I was sitting about 20CM away with 2x19" monitors and my eyes were straining as they were too close to my face. When I moved them to 25CM, my eyes were not straining as badly.

scottish
31-10-2008, 09:19 PM
 i've sat within 20cm of my monitors for about 7 years now, it's never strained my eyes.

Why not instead of 2 monitors get 1 large 30" monitor ?

are you planning to run them at their native resolution?

1280x1024

Lol, you're silly.

1) Not running LCD monitors at their native res looks blurry and sucks.
2) You've not even chosen a widescreen resolution, so it's going to be a stretched image as well as blurred.

Because 48 is larger than 30. Cheaper, and for the price of a 30" you might as well just buy an HDTV...although you wont get as good of a resolution I suppose:P..

You really need to run it at native resolution, if you dont, theres no point in buying the monitors, you wont be impressed at all :(

Yeah. There are some reasons for not running at native resolution, such as having a visual impairment, but you would just raise the DPI for that.
