The inferno shoutbox pro? Or even lite?
I know it's probably been brought up, but it's easy to install.
Upload files, install product, add;
Under $navbar
<!--{%SHOUTBOX%}-->

So on your forum home template, it's look like this;
$navbar
<!--{%SHOUTBOX%}-->

I think it should be added!

There's too many users on here for a shoutbox. No one would be able to read what others were saying as people would be typing all the time.
They're ugly anyway and if you want direct chat there's the Chat Room already. :)

Habbox had one once but they're too resource intensive.

Exactly, but a box would be easier and quicker, but still... Its not hard to type in a chatbox that nobody uses?

You guys really have no idea how many times I have tried this chatbox nonsense and frankly each and every time we have the same issue.

Just way too many people on HabboxForum (yes I know we are burdened by our own greatness :P).

People see a nice integrated chat/shoutbox on the forum and they want to chat about everything they possibly can type thus tiring the hamsters in their wheels that run to power our servers.

I mean it has actually extended to the point where because a lot of people are VIP's we cant even make it exclusive to a niche of users. So the only solution is something which doesnt rely on http POST and GET to simulate a chat and thats where our java/flash/C+/perl/PHP chat comes into play.

Integrate flash chat into the top of the page just like a shoutbox ;)

But also I can understand why, it couldn't be easily moderated either. I could be very abusive and racist to someone (not that I am :P) at around 1am and I wouldn't get caught.

You can disable it and use the popup instead ;).

Integrating it straight into the forum index would cause alot of flooding in flashchat and it's more convienent in general to have a pop-up chat so you can use the forum and the chat at the same time.

Flashchat is crap :P its never used lol...

Also this suggestion has been suggested WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too many times and been denied everytime, i'm sure once we had it activated at night, and off during the day? or was that another forum? :P

As stated we provide a chat currently for members to use. :) We wouldn't ever try (again) as Jin said to add a shoutbox due to the fact we have too many users and the software is too resource hungry. Also the fact the chat is almost the same thing anyway - I don't see a problem with what we currently provide.

That's the problem with the chat atm :P no-one uses it >_>

You don't need to explain how to use the plugin/hack, I think Jin knows how to add it :P

Also, a javascript chatbox would be useles with the forum's user base.

All the more reason that adding a shout box would be pointless? :P Really if no one uses the chat why would they want to use a shout box. Additionally it really isn't a good idea and wouldn't work as it's been attempted in the past.

I didn't say add a shoutbox, but on that arguement, if shoutbox was at the top of the page then it would be used alot :P

But i agree there shouldn't be a shoutbox ^^
