Fallout 3 is the most depressing, boring piece of RPG I've ever played

Okay.

So it comes in lunchbox, that I shelled £10 more on and then boom, the moment you slap it in the PS3 , you get this feeling that something's gonna go wrong! For starters, let me just make a platform complaint

- Everytime someones comes offline, online the game freezes for a few seconds
- Everytime someone seends you a message, it freezes for a few seconds
- These are somewhat similar to the 360 version, except it only lags.

Okay, so I can take that... but holy crap... Army of Two was more enjoyable! All you do is walk down grey roads, look at grey boring re-used textures, talk to dark characters, have disgustingly textured things chase after you, it becomes a drag.

You walk over dryly textured hills, with no ammo and your health on nothing, your legs are cripped and all you hope is for the game to not freeze entirely. It becomes such a drag, that you just hope they'll be a town... but it just seems like Bethesda blew up a chunk of English soil, radiationed it for 200 years, and then copied pasted it for about 50 KM, and added a few eyesores.

Theere's nothing fun about this game, especially when you come out of the valut. The quests are unimaginitve and seriously overated, some guy says to go to the most northern tip of the map, go inside somewhere, ask some guy about something and the same voice actor replies ''K NOW GO ALL THE WAY BACK..."

It's boring, depressing and downright not worth it. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

I basically thought ''Oblivion with guns.'' , but it's more of ''Bore with a ugly combat system.''

Yeah I avoided this purely because it's an RPG and bar Oblivion I just cannot do with them. It does look pretty boring and poor from what i've seen.

It's growing on me, might not be the worst RPG I've ever played. But it's deffo not enojyable, only buy this game if your either a sucker or a huge bethesda fan... guess which one I am..

At first, I was in interested in the collectors addition for the lunchbox packaging and the bobblehead as i'm a sucker for collectors additions.

I think its ok when I first started playing it before leaving the vault I was thinking 'omg its going to be so awesome once I get out to the waste land'. Then when I did I came across some things I dislike.... I hate it when you like secretly kill someone in that friendly town when your first leave the vault some how everyone in the whole town has found out and its like impossible to escape lol.

I also have started to get annoyed by these giant mutant things who use all of the little ammo I have killing one of them when there is like 5 of them chasing me. When I read the back of the box it said something like 'choose to kill everything bla bla or explore the waste land around you bla' from that I expected there to be a lot less evil things trying to attack you around the streets than there are lol

I really want to like this game but as I get further into it, it is getting harder and harder not to hate it.

The game ain't half-decent, but the Collector's stuff is alright, looks all stylis and sexy , the lunchbox is well made and the bobblehead is just a nice little thing to have.

I'd say it's worth a rent though.

I'll say what many Fallout 1/2 fans have said, and that it's a complete dissapointment to the Fallout franchise. I haven't played any Fallout games, but I've heard they're outstanding & a gaming experience you could compare to completing Zelda OOT for the first time. It'd please the general gamer, because they just see it as a groundbreaking title which has never been done before, but if you look at the history of Fallout, it's apparently a very poor game. The points people bring up in this thread just reinforce that fact further.

Fallout 3 is amazing, I havent stopped playing it all day, it's just so good with the leveling system and the VATS + Pipboy3000 are amazing. There is so much freedom and there is a wide range of weapons. I dont know what game that guy was playing because it is simply amazing. Gamespot said the PS3 version was way inferior to the 360/PC versions as there were more glitches and errors in the PS3 version, I myself (360) have had no problems what so ever.

YOU, YOU, YOU... Yeah, other people LIKE the game, not everybody dislikes it as much as you..

Theres NO problems with lag when people log in on Xbox (in my experience - i've been playing it all day, Same with about 7 more friends [Xbox also])

Army of twos a good game.. (My opinion. im willing to listen to other peoples opinions...) it got good reviews and it has good gameplay also, the only bad thing is online..

-Dogmeat collects ammo and health things for you...
The game doesnt ALWAYS freeze.. mines never frozen and its been played for 5+ hours in one 'session'
-AMERICAN SOIL
Its ALOT different if you have a high vantage point

Theres obviously going to be a twist getting there / getting back.. and quests are not always that simple..

I guess most of my problems are platform specific... I don't think I can actually review this game on TPV, until Bethesda send out a patch or something.

Also, I can't get to Dogmeat yet, everytime I head to Vault 87 the Enclave sends out a couple of soldiers in power armour - I can't get past it , so I have to do the side-quests.

I've heard the other platforms have better visuals, better controls, better everything. Btw, Army of Two was a great game, just not 'awesome' - if you know what I mean.

there though, its a touch fight if you want their loots and armour but they dont attack you..

I get to the Radio Station where they're all killing the mutants, kill the big one then we speak to the woman so I can talk to the dog guy, then after I say 'I have to go now' they all start shooting me, so I got behind a pillar and saved it (stupid) and now whenever I load it a fat man gets shot towards me and kills me, so I'm kind of in a stuck situation.

yeah, that happened to a friend of mine. this game seems very glitchy and has platform specific glitches.

Imo, the game is amazing. Just the way you can go around everywhere in post-apocoloptic Washington D.C, interact with everyone, tbh i just love the game all round. :D

I must admit when I was in the Vault I thought, damn this game will be amazing. When V.A.T.S was introduced the game just blew me away. Everything, for me, started to go downhill as soon as I left the Vault. When I reached D.C. I could nearly not bare it anymore, and when the mutants start attacking you and you use all your ammo on one while they have AK's I'd just had enough and turned it off after reaching Galaxy News.

Been playing it most of the day, was quite enjoying it compared to the first two games, it's still way down at like 1000 in my top games list but it's not the worst game in the world, nuked megton, that was cool to watch now I'm in the museum and can't do anything cause I have like 1 health bar left and nothing to heal with, hardly any ammo and at least 4-5 super mutants ahead of me, it's rather annoying trying to fight that many with so little health and I have no more stealth boys left >.<
