XP is the most stable OS.

I don't think vista will ever be IMO, it uses so much RAM.

I liked windows 2000 then it was just to incompatible for the software I wanted to run, XP SP2 is amazing.

You haven't read the thread.

Your another one that angers me. XP is stable and more compatible because its been out 3 times longer than Vista. Jesus christ I wish people would get this into their thick skulls.

Get out of the past, who the hell uses 512mb of RAM nowadays?!

Vista needed to push the specs up, otherwise the industry would be at a stand still. We would all still be using 512mb of RAM and lower, but now 2GB is the standard. Seriously, get out of the past and into the present, most of the market now uses 2GB of RAM and over. CPUs are now dual and quad core and so are far faster.

Yes I know it has been out longer, but MOST of windows 2000 apps worked on XP if I remember correctly.

Different with vista, barely any work.

and I'm not using 512mb RAM I am actually using 1gb.

That's funny.. because having since switched from XP to Vista (last Christmas).. not one of my programs have ceased to stop working.

I've had no driver issues.. no problems at all.. no software stops working..

When Vista had very first came out there were many compatibility problems, such as Nero burning. Then developers updated their applications and they began working better on Vista. Even now, though, I still cannot run Civilization II, or Total War on my Vista system due to incompatibility. In addition there's many key generators, no-cd fixes that don't work on Vista.

Can't you just right click on the apps and do properties then compatibility and set it to run in xp mode?

an hour ago for instance, I "keep my Vista up to date with automatic updates". When I come home my screens are blank. Reboot...still blank. The update did something (I don't know what) and prevented my display driver from working. Not a huge problem, I can use the computer without being able to see what I'm doing:eusa_wall:eusa_wall. (Thankfully Vista repair-o wizard Fixed the problem in just 40 minutes:rolleyes:)

*****, it's not permanent. I just find the best way to get an idea of something is not through review and scrolling past graph after graph of bench tests but to use it as you would normally. Plus sending feedback hopefully transfers to the end product making it better for everyone.
