Doubt it, Symbian is a Nokia OS, and it's not much good anyway (It's dying out). Have a look on the XDA Developers website to see if anyone's got Android working yet, but that's pretty much it. Windows Mobile isn't meant to be a whole lot of fun so it's no surprise you're tired of it.

Symbian is FAR from dieing out, in fact they just released Feature Pack 3 for Symbian 9.x.
But you are right, Symbian is Nokia only.

The Mobile Ubuntu you're looking at isn't for mobile devices like phones. It's intended for things such as Netbooks. Ubuntu Mobile is a full on OS. You won't find something like it for a mobile phone. The closest you would get is Android, or the iPhone OS, but you cannot just install these on your PDA :P.

I've been a Windows Mobile user for years (even back in the good old CE days). Nothing's wrong with it, and it sure beats using Symbian. The advantage over using Windows Mobile that I like, is that you can get flash for the browser, and you can use Opera or Minimo (Firefox) for browsers too.
