Just wondering.....

Do users get offered this Job or do they have to apply when applications are open! :D

(Adding onto to his question, what do they do?)

I think at the moment Community Support staff are working from reccomendations however FlyingJesus may want to open applications soon. I'll direct him to this thread so he can give you a clear answer.

Community Staff are really about the upkeep and support of the forum. Rather than sorting out rule breakers, they are there to make sure content like FAQs etc are up to date, and help promote a friendly environment. They will also soon start responding to the Support System once everything is sorted and will help respond to forum related problems. Again, I will direct FlyingJesus to this thread so he can give you a more clear answer as I am being quite vague :P.

You did no such thing!

Sorry I didn't see this, I've been out pretty much all weekend .. for community purposes of course.

For "what we do" John's link should hopefully help, and if not then do feel free to ask. As for applications and such, we're not currently looking to recruit as frankly there isn't a massive amount to be done right now. When the System Support comes into play properly we'll see how that goes and maybe take on some extra roles, at which time we might need more staff. I'm thinking we'll have apps open under the scrutiny of the current team - there's no point approaching people who have no interest in the task, but similarly I'd like the team as trustworthy and friendly (to each other as well as forum members) as possible, especially considering the confidentiality involved with the CS part of the Support System, so I want their input into who is best suited.
