Reputation Power
Rep power is the amount of points that you can take or give to some one's reputation. Your rep power increases by 1 point for every:
- 5000 posts
- 600 reputation points
- 365 days (1 year) registered on the forum

I think thats abit drastic, don't you?

that's wrong, you only take away half your power, unless it's changed.

Yup. Who's gonna get 600 rep points, plus for a reward of only 1 rep power :| lol

Nothing wrong with the criteria.

I think posts should be for every 2000 you gain a rep power

or just change the reputation system back to the way it use to be.

But then Jesus would have like 10 or 11 from post count alone. I do however agree 600 rep points per power is a bit steep.

I think the post count one needs sorting.

People's rep powers are high enough as it is, no need to make them even higher.

Hm, that's only really because we joined this forum before the rep changes. If you look at the rep powers of members who joined in 2008, they're rarely above two or three.

3000 would be way too low, you've got a rep power of 7 which is quite high so I don't see why you're complaining and if people have a rep power of 2 or 3 and they joined in 2008, what's the problem with that? They've barely been on the forum for a whole year so it makes sense. You don't want 1 year olds with 5 rep power, they wouldn't of earned it :/

The only issue with the rep system is the amount of people you have to rep before you can rep the same one again.

I entirely disagree, it's easy for anyone to spam up a load for rep power (think Kyle if you were around during the old rep system) but harder to get rep points up and of course you can't speed up time. The only one I'd argue to lower is how many rep points you need per power, if I were to argue it at all any more.

A bit late on the boat aren't you? :P The achievment levels, if you will, for post counts, are pretty set in, chances are we won't change them. Its really not that big of an issue people having rep counts of two or three...it gives more meaning to each reputation point really (well, from this point forward, we do have the outstanding problem of old pointless reputation.)
