As a Mac user, I found this pretty funny because it's partially true - at least before the transition to Intel.

The back of my PC looks nothing like that.

Same here... I just cable tie the ones I do have together.
My sound isn't tinny, ALL the parts in my PC can be upgraded, I have better specs than that iMac for less than half the price...
The game screenshot is true.
Also, they have clearly used extremely long cables for that Dell, especially as some seem to go on forever if you have a look.

Boot Camp on a Mac runs Windows Vista (therefore, gaming) better than PC's do.
That's not entirely true/false though, I have a Mac mini as a main computer but I still have a 3.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo box with 3GB RAM (Vista Home Premium) shared with my brother for gaming.

Gaming will probably change now, as Apple have started to use Nvidia. iMac are soon to be updated according to rumors anyway, so we will see. But meh, i dont mind :P

Tbh, I don't think Macs will beat PCs in terms of gaming, Apple simply don't update, or give the users the chance to update, their hardware quickly, easily or cheaply enough.

I wouldn't say like beat them,as most game developers just do it for windows anyway. But, maybe more games. I don't know. Im not a big gamer like some of you on here so either way it doesn't really matter to me. :)

I thought these rediculously stupid campaigns by Apple/Apple fans stopped years ago when they were labelled as stupid by many people, for believing that all other PCs have alot of cables. Heck, cables are not a problem with computers, unless you plan on having a PC in the middle of the floor. And I am sure if you upgraded a PC to have a wireless card, wireless keyboard and mouse, wireless speakers, built-in webcam you'll get more than a Mac for cheaper, if they're basing it on neatness.
1 - HP have PCs very similar to Macs.
2 - Most school use PCs that are a screen and a PC in one.
3 - Cables aren't exactly a valid grounds to base what you do or do not buy.
I swear these sorts of issues died down years ago :S

That's why Apple computers are not primarily gaming machines, I doubt they ever will be.

Ye i agree there macs will never beat pc's for gameing mainly as well because most mac users dont buy a mac to game. The not being able to upgrade hardwear quickly enough is not true though. On the old powermac g4's you just lift a handle and your into it.

Eugh, I hate this Mac vs PC squabble.
I'm not running it now because it's not finished yet, but I'm busy building a PC with 8GB Corsair RAM, nVidia GTX+ gaming card, Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, and 3750GB HDD. for £1,300.
I couldn't get something anywhere near that price for a Mac.
Also, with my old desktop, I literally picked it up out of the box, placed it in my room, turned it on, waited a few mins to configure it with username and passwords and it worked. It's not like it takes ages to do it, as the Get a Mac adverts imply.
But I'm not having a bash at apple... as infact I'm a huge fan of OS X. I think it's absolutely brilliant, and Apple could earn a lot more money by allowing it to be sold and to be run on ordinary PC's.
So yeah, PC hardware is better, Mac software is better imo.

That means buying the most expensive Mac there is, which is £1200+ and then you can't go and buy an ordinary Graphics card, you have to get a Mac flashed one.

Thats the whole point of OS X, it is only for Apple hardware, and so thats where the great support etc... comes from,

Yes, Core i7, but if you've ordered the motherboard then bad luck LOL, it wont work in it.
Also extreme is the same as the non-extreme ones but with an unlocked multiplyer, so unless your overclocking, which you can still do well on the non extreme, then just get the normal ones.

If you buy a mac pro you can upgrade.
Recursion

Not really, for a graphics upgrade you have to buy a specially overpriced Mac-flashed card that just so happens to need more BIOS space on the card than a conventional graphics card.

Tbh I only prefer mac for OS X. Less viruses, Time Machine, etc. For games, there is always the option of boot camp or virtualization like parallels and vmware fusion. The design is also another element that draws me to mac, the clean sleek look is what I like. Also it is cheaper to say upgrade to a newer version of OS X.

Pretty much the only thing you can upgrade in a mac without obscene amounts of money :P

You know I can't exactly say I've ever sat at the back of my pc thinking "hmm this is interesting", nobody cares about wiring apart from people who either don't have anything else to do (nice mac, real useful) or people are bored with what they have (nice mac, real interesting).

Did you know if you have the antivirus "Common sense 2008" you'll never get a virus on Windows? Also Windows has Shadow Volume Copy. It's like time machine for people who don't need to jerk off to the thumbnails.
