I don't see the big deal... It could of been worse, he could of made the story up that prostitutes were murdered. At least he did his research into the true story of the lorry driver that killed prostitutes in Ipswich, which is near me :P

Everyone, note it down. 200 complaints. Watch it jump to 40,000 when it gets more publicity.

BBC and Britain in general have a giant pole up its arse, everyone is so stuck up.

Personally, I hope everyone who complained has their house pumped full of mustard gas.

Oh please, it was a reference to a true fact. What's next? A historian getting sacked for referencing to the true facts that Henry the Eighth killed some of his wives? It's getting chucked out of proportion, as with most things when you hear of these things happening. In a few months time no-one will care :/

People take things too seriously, personally, it made me laugh, and most people watch the show for his sort of humour, and yeah, hes said alot worse things than that. People need to calm down a bit.

I live fairly close to Ipswich and I wasn't offended at all, people just complain for the sake of it.

i can understand when people complain for a legitiment reason
for example
when michael fish guaranteed people there wouldnt be a hurricaine... and there was
but when people make a joke and it genuinely is funny... what is the point of it...

I agree with you all, everyone who watches Top Gear will know what they are expecting with joke wise. If they have problems on how Clarkson says hes jokes, then why bloody watch it. No point complaining at all.

They don't seem to care tbh

One of Britain’s biggest haulage firms, the Eddie Stobart Group, threw its weight behind Clarkson.
CEO Andrew Tinkler said: “They were just having a laugh. It’s the 21st century, let’s get our sense of humour in line.”

...

Trucker Nigel Folkard, 52, also backed Clarkson. Nigel, who pilots a 14-wheel big rig, said: “I found that show absolutely hilarious. There was no maliciousness in it whatsoever.
“What’s going on in this country? You can’t make a joke without people going crazy.”

But others held different views, including Eddie Stobart chief executive Andrew Tinkler, who said the reference was used to comically exaggerate an unfair urban myth about the world of lorry driving.
He said: "They were just having a laugh."
Will Shiers, editor of Truck & Driver magazine, believed most of the UK's drivers who saw the programme loved it.
He said: "On the whole I thought the show was really entertaining."

Ooo, that's good to hear. It's more offensive to the lorry drivers than the prostitutes anyway. It is a bit pathetic how people are moaning about these things, he wasn't exactly rude about it. He just came out with the comments with no maliciousness behind them. If he pulled up photos of lorry drivers and started being rude, then that's a different story :P

The lorry drivers have been laughing at it and thinking its great how hes showing how hard there job is! :P

I can garuntee that he will say sorry and then make a HUGE fricken funny joke about it.

Prostitutes wouldn't want him fired if he was a client of theirs.

Everyone knows Clarkson is a a barrel of laughs, his humour is just... immense. If you can't handle it, don't watch it? :S

With Top Gear being the most watched TV Program in the UK, and Clarkson being one of the most famous BBC presenters EVER, it is highly unlikely any action will be taken.

I can predict that if Clarkson resigns / gets sacked, there will be more than 517 people who would stop watching. He really is one of the funniest people out there, who loves to complain and joke around about anything.

Pretty stupid to complain about the BBC. Everyone will always back up and take the BBC's sides as there will always be people who love the show.
