Is probally one of the greatest generations in history.
We have had the year of 2000, we have had computers/internet introduced, We've had barack obama, youngest and the first black president elected, we have expieranced the wall street meltdown/credit crunch, We've had the war in iraq/afghanistarn, were going to have london olympics, we had lewis hamilton win f1, we've seen george bush in power, we've had bill clinton, we've expieranced youthal genres (chavs, emos etc.)
Anything else?
I would just like to say, we have expierance one of the great generations, don't feel bad, we've had it all so far!
Whats to come!? :O

every generation sees itself as the greatest because it has made advancements on the generations that preceded it (except perhaps the dark ages).. in a few centuries people will probably look at us and think how crude our society and technology is.

Yeah, think of the coursework/exams what will be implaced for the barack obama years in the next 40-50 years to come, damn lol. Just like JFK etc, this is the best! I love obama and supported him from the start!

Exactly. So it's pretty pointless discussing how amazing we are.
What's so impressive about Lewis Hamilton winning btw? And Bill Clinton? :S
And youthful genres if that's what you mean haven't changed that much.
We have the London Olympics? Are you saying our generation is great because the Olympics are being held in the UK?
I'm pretty confused as too if your referring to 'we' as Britain or our generation all over the world, cause most of the stuff you've mentioned isn't very impressive to anyone other than the country in which it happened.

I agree, who cares if Lewis Hamilton won? So did Michael Schuhmacher seven times i believe?
First black president, so what? Australia has had black aboriginal people in power for centuries before white came...

I think this thread is coming from a English point of view.
Ie; Hamilton, London 2012 etc
So we may as well add Manchester had the Commonwealth Games, which is quite incredible to see your country hold both the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. We also won the Rugby world cup, and we got to the final four years later. We won the Ashes. We also saw Leona Lewis make it massive in the USA.

None of that, in my opinion, makes our generation one of the best generation. Actually, to be quite honest, I think a majority of our generation are idiots. It's almost like kids get dumber and dumber as the years go by. It's probably something in the air.

It's kinda annoying how people recognize him just because he's black. Anyone who voted for him just because he's black are morons. I'm not saying he sucks or anything; if I could vote I would've voted for him. But if you're going to vote, then vote for him because of his policies and political beliefs. Either way, I'm just really glad that douche McCain and that nasty little skank Palin didn't win.

Ino aha
I don't think our generation is the best. I mean sure theres some great technology and medical advancements went on, but a large ammount of people are junkies and people who live off the state, or try and make things difficult for others.
We're defo not the best generation, but tbh, I don't think theres is a 'best' generation, because every generation has its flaws.

Australia has held the Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games... actually, we held the Olympics twice? :O!
The Commonwealth and Olympic games within 8 years of each other.
Melbourne has held both of the games.
Australia won in a white wash the Ashes against England.
Has the Veronicas.
One of the most successful tennis duo ever - Mark Woodbridge and Todd Woodforde.
For a nation that is not popular in soccer, we got to the semi finals in the world cup. Got jibbed by Italy for a dive :eusa_wall.
Held the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Only team to win the Rugby World Cup twice.
