Simple as this. I need a DVD Writer. Don't know if my laptop has one. How can I find out. Even if I do how do I know if it's good. I will buy an external one if I don't have one, so whats the best. Simple as that. Thanks. ;)

LG and Pioneer do some decent ones.

Search around on Ebay, I reccommend Pioneer.

If its for what I think it is, you need one capable of dual layer disks, whats your laptop make and model?

Yeah it is. ;)
I think it'll be better if I get a external one which can also lazor on the cover of the disc. It'll be going at 2.4x because it'll be verbatim discs.

If you just want to copy a movie to a disk it should be built into your computer. If you want to add the subtitles, menus and extras ect you need a dual layer burner.

Not a DVD, that's easy. I want to burn Xbox 360 games onto a disc, this will need a DVD writer which supports dual layer. So I'm looking for the decent external ones which if possible, can also lazor the disc image onto it aswell.

Lol, the vast majority of DVD-RW drives can burn dual layer disks. No where near £150.

I'm sure I saw one for $150 so I'm sure it wont set me back £150.

For the lazer writing on disk you need LightScribe disks, which isn't good because you want to use Verbatim. Just use a marker like I do :P

Dual layer is basically it has two layers of around 4gb making it around 8gb. Because Xbox games are that large.

OK... but what I don't get it when a mate gave me a disc ages ago it's a Verbatim however it has the Icon image on it. Think he just got that sticky printer paper? :P

And I'll just use a marker pen and download the CD covers then. So I'll get the DVD Writer once I've got a decent one on my next free Saturday... three weeks away. Anyone know any decent ones which are an alright price?
