View Full Version : SMS to PayPal soon possible!

Hello,

I have been developing a new business recently, and it is almost complete.

The website is called SMStoPayPal (http://smstopaypal.com/) and it will be offering a service where you can add credit to an account with us by SMS, and then have that money sent to your PayPal account.

It's simple really, you pay a certain amount, and get a little less. You get the amount you pay, minus network charges and SMS transaction charges and a little commission.

It's almost ready to go, but I'm just working on a last bit of the coding of some of the SMS to account stuff (before anyone offers, I don't need any help thanks ;)).

I'm posting it on HabboxForum just so I can introduce the idea to you guys as I know many of you will appreciate this service. I'm hoping to have it up and running within a few days.

Comments welcome.

Thanks.

I really hope this takes off, it's been wanted so long and many have tried but failed. I'm adamant there's a lot of money to be made here and rightly so, good luck with it and I'm sure however much you charge, it'll be used :P

Hey, i looked into this awhile ago. How did you get around the legal trouble of Handling money. All the rules and regulations about it caused me to give up

I spend around 3 months researching this at start at the start of year and found same problem as Lycan. I also found that i would only be able to give the customers 40-50% of the money they are useing for the sms, i will watch this quite closely to see how it goes, should be intresting.

Good Luck. hopefully its succesful.

An example of one of the payments is £3.50 will get you £2 in PayPal. Another would be £6.25 gets you £4. So they aren't bad rates and we still make money from them.

Thanks for the feedback. Already I have a load of PMs and IM's regarding this asking when it's going to be open. I've also received positive feedback about the rates "not bad enough to put me off" (meaning that they obviously aren't great but they aren't bad either - i'm saying this incase it comes accross incorrectly in the small quote ;)).

I'm not going to explain but it's not me that is resulting in the hold up in the coding, but there isn't a problem, it's just something I need to be sure of before I can open the website... so basically if all goes to plan it may open tomorrow/saturday evening... (edit from here) although I'll be out all saturday and evening actually... so if not friday possibly saturday, if not, sunday.

I'd be sure to be home the night you opened it, and the next day..

This is people's money you're dealing with.. real money :P So I would be sure to be around to work out any bugs, provide refunds if things go wrong.. etc.

;) You never know..

Most the coding I already use on Tech-Hosts, so I'm pretty sure it will work. And I understand what you're saying so yeah, I'll be there to help.

They definitely don't. As has been previously said, you can send money that's in your account or on your credit card through your phone, but you can't add credit to your paypal account from your phone credit.

Targetting two audiences, I've had different people responding and you're the only person that has realised there are two ;) Different people browse different sections, and the category fits both.

I take it you have got paypals permission?

I take it you have got paypals permission?

Every time somebody asks that question (or similar) he ignores it, so I take it he doesn't. You'll need PayPal's permission because after you do a certain amount of transactions they'll need you to verify who you are and what you're doing.

iUnknown
08-11-2008, 11:01 AM
My verified PayPal account has no limits... because everything is completely verified and allowed due to the fact that I need no limits due to the amount of transactions I do.

If you say so... I'm not 100% sure how it all works, but the PTC sites like Bux.to and others have to tell PayPal who they are and what they're doing because they're dealing with a lot of money (peoples money may I add). It might be the same for something like this, as I said I'm not 100% sure how it all works.

I think i may start to like you! That would make you AND guy money!

The only thing i dont like are the rates :D

As if i bought a site i would use tech-hosts with sms, so i wouldnt need it for that. I would use it for VIP+ but it would be cheaper to buy off someone else LOL

iUnknown

I will confirm it is OK with PayPal later today.

"I thinks"... as I've stated before, I've read their terms of service/conditions... if you've found something that I might have missed feel free to point it out.

Good luck with this. People who want to use this service will use it regardless of the rates if there's nothing around to compete with you over the same service.

That's what I feel also, however, I do give the best rates I can and also, the rates put other people off competing because it is very hard to get even those rates. Some people think they aren't bad, some people don't like them. All the same, people will still use it if they need it.

Why would he need to ask paypal all he is doing in paypal's eyes is selling an item,It's potentially breaking the law with their service that's why. It could also be said he's capitalising and making money from their service.

That is already up, but it's not using your mobile to add funds to your PayPal account, that's using it to send your PayPal funds to other people through SMS.

It has been said many times that this only allows you to transfer your Paypal funds, not transfer your mobiles credit.
