Has anyone ever worked there / had an interview there?
I applied on Saturday and got a call today saying I have an interview Saturday morning. This is my first interview so I'm not sure what'll be asked. It's like an hour and a half to two hours long, so will I need to be doing something practical based?
Any help'll be useful.

If its about 2 hours long then you will most likely be doing something practical like team work with other people or a maths and english test maybe.
They will ask you questions like why do you want to work for us?, where do you see yourself in 10 years time maybe? what can you bring to argos?
:)

Er, you may get induction aswell. But if your going for an intrerview, then it maybe a test?
Er, most people ask;
What you want to do here
Why are you here
What can you offer us
Why would i want to work with you
Why you and not someone else - words like, i work hard and motivated work here.
just dont say your the for the money.
best i can give you is, think of 5 questions you think they will ask. And say them to yourself and then say an answer, which is honest but sounds great like
Why you and nobody else - Well, im a hardworking, sociable person that is motivated by work. Example

Thanks.
I was thinking of questions along those lines but it's pretty common sense really, just got to tell them what they want to hear. I don't think it'll be too bad, it's just the thought of being there for two hours. It's not in the store which I applied for, although if I pass i'll be working in the one I applied for.

Yeah, my mum mentioned that. If it is I'm not sure if I'll crack under pressure. I worked as an ice cream vendor for a year or so and could deal with customers easy, but say a future manager, I'm not sure haha.

What you mean by the top bit.
And yeh, atleast I can see what to expect from future interviews. Worst possibly thing to happen is not getting the job.

Mike Ashley

Area Manager
Store Manager
Area (Instore) Manager
Supervisor
Assistant
And you have an interview with Store manager. But i went down stairs after about 2 months of being there and said ive had enough of you and this **** company im gone in 2 days.

i work at argos, LOL, CRINGE :X
and what most people have said here is wrong
it will be a group interview and you will firstly be put in pairs and asked to talk to that person for a few minutes then introduce them to the group, the split into groups of like 3/4 and asked to do an activity like make a new argos uniform, superhero or a leaflet, then you have to do a number work sheet and then it's over.

And we all gave help. I stated my experience. Pasta said it will be something practical - which it is - and lAscend said about the questions and that it may be something practical.
Callum, never said exactly what happens, do not help me if you dont know.
Besides, you may be wrong as, they may actually interview him on his own and do what you stated.

Callum.

so how was it
wasn't bad actually. hear by monday if i made it to instore part of the process. was exactly how eamonn said it was. first had to introduce someone, which was a 41 year old man called charles. second had to do some "super here" thing and decribe why he'd be the best customer assitant. next was some test which was hard under the pressure that if you get it wrong you'll rpbs be out lol.
thanks for asking

thanks.
had some induction today, health and safety, and admin stuff. got paid for the 5 hours though, so £28 for me.
but for the next 2 weekends (starting tomorrow) I have 3 hours a day training, and after that I have longer hours.
sunday is time and half, what is this? 1 and a half hours pay for 1 hours work? that's like £8.40

urgh you get so much training compared to what I have received at jobs lol.
I was just thrown in at the deep end.
